Sad to say this was the worst lunch experience in a while. Asked for an untoasted bagel and a meat substitution on a panini and... got a toasted bagel and a panini with no meat at all, even though I was also uncharged for the meat sub. They remade thesandwich upon request and made it wrong again. For someone who doesn't spend a lot eating out and hates asking for food to beremade, this was disappointing and a waste of money. No longer a local recommendation, this honestly really sucked and I regretwasting money on a soggy sandwich I didn't want to eat once I got one close to what I ordered. Read more

I ordered 8 dozen bagels to be delivered for the morning after my wedding. If this review was only for customer service, I... would have left 5 stars. Everyone I spoke with regarding this order was helpful, responsive and professional. The order wasdelivered 15 minutes early (which was great!) and they provided plates and napkins free of charge. I am leaving 3 stars due toquality. I understand that this was a large order. However, I was expecting all of the bagels to be fresh and delicious. About half of the bagels were dense, dry and hard, appearing to be stale. Including all of the the everythings. Perhaps someof the bagels had been baked off the night before or something? Or perhaps they were not proofed long enough? It's hard toknow. Lastly, another factor contributing to the 3 start review would be the slicing of the bagels. The Works charges $1 perdozen as a slicing fee. I think this is very reasonable! Several of the bagels were cut extremely poorly, almost comically so. Leaving 1 half paper thin and the other half basically an entire bagel. Just something to note for future orders as this wasan additional cost. Read more

Make sure you go on a cheat day! Proportions for breakfasts were huge. Got an omelette to split and still had leftovers. The... bakery case looked amazing and sinful! I would have loved to see a few gluten free options, however. Edited to agree that Iconfused this location with another regarding the gluten free ... They had numerous options which was great to see! Great spot to stop in the summer and grab food and smoothies. We often stop in Keene on our way home from Vermont. So I have... frequented this place a few times now. Friendly staff, food was good and sourced from farms. I really enjoyed sitting outsideand eating. Parking is not too bad either. Definitely recommend giving the works a try. Read more

So you may wonder "really, ONE STAR? Sadly, YES and here's why. Visiting Keene, first time here. I ordered a chicken salad... sandwich on toasted bread with avocado. Simple enough - right? Apparently not. I opened the sandwich which had somehow becomeSOGGY in it's brief sandwich life, to find HARDLY ANY chicken salad - hardly anything on the bread, and the greens were wilted,a REAL hot mess! I asked one of the staff to look at the sandwich - "OH - the chicken salad is only on one side - we'll makeyou another! I can understand the staff trying to minimize the poor quality and preparation. So this time I asked for plainun-toasted bread, because my party and I were running out of time. The sandwich came again, and while there was admittedly aLITTLE more salad, the chicken was not white meat, and there was an off-putting undertaste as well - so off putting - it wasJUST NOT VERY GOOD. I am surprised by the positive reviews, but maybe I just dined here at the wrong date and the wrong time. Ialways believe the manager working the floor bears responsibility operationally, and I observed her abrupt response to thereported problem. I will NEVER go back and there again because there are SO MANY more appropriate choices for dining. Read more
