We have been huge fans of Ume for years- always tremendous quality, value and hospitality. Our recent experiences, however, have... left much to be desired. We have even wondered if there has been a change in ownership/management. We ordered take out a monthor so ago and the chicken karaage was raw and the shashimi smelled off and was very off putting. Overall the quality of theorder was inferior to what we had come to expect. These things happen though, chalk it up to a one-off. We called to let thestaff know and they handled it well and issued us a credit for the order over the phone. Last night we ordered take out and tohave the credit applied, and they decided to offer us a 10% discount on the order instead. This left a bad taste in our mouth,and the order itself still seemed to be inferior quality to what we have come to expect. Due to the way our raw chicken and offputting fish order was handled in the end, we will not be ordering from Ume anytime soon. I hope they are able to sort thingsout in the long run as we have been loyal customers for some time. Read more
fantastic prices, wonderful staff, homey atmosphere~ it's got it all without compromising on food quality. my favourite... restaurant in Kelowna. the take-home goodies they sell are awesome, and I buy my nori from there. Read more

Ordered a variety off skip, everything showed up hot and packed well. Gyoza, Philadelphia roll and super bowl were delicious.... Loved the broth in the Udon soup, however there was a lack of veggies and broth as it was jammed in a small container togetherwith the beef. The curry was pretty average with the pork katsu. Will try more items as overall it was good food and veryreasonable prices. Read more
