Earlier tonight experienced possibly my best ever wine-tasting (and I've done a lot over my life) with Roger! He was so warm and... funny and spoke so passionately about the wines. He also had incredible culinary suggestions for every wine and palate to gowith. Such a total and complete pleasure. I ended up buying 3 different bottles and might come back for more. Karen was an amazing host for my wine tasting experience! She was knowledgeable and experienced, answering all my questions... relating to pairing and the grapes. She explained the history of the winery and the current yields compared to previous yearsharvests. I tried all the reds available on their tasting menu, and although they all tasted phenomenal, I fell in love withthe pinor noir and the magma red in particular, excellent pairing with medium dark chocolate (60-70%). Volcanic Hills was the last stop on our wine tour this summer and it really made the trip memorable. The wines were lovely and... the large open tasting room was great. What made the experience unforgettable was our time with Roger. What an amazing person!Not only was he very attentive while doing the tasting, he spent time answering questions for us about wine and food pairings,and came up with tons of ideas that went well with my many allergies and dietary restrictions. My husband and I went on the proprietor?s tour with Bobby. We loved the whole experience! Bobby was not only so knowledgeable... about the wine making process at Volcanic but the stories he shared about his family and their business were hilarious andheartwarming. The tour ended with a wonderful tasting and snacks. The staff at the bar, Julie and Roger could chargeentertainment tax, they were that funny! Overall the whole experience is not to be missed! Wonderful winery! Went for a tour while visiting BC as we live in Ontario. The owner was very friendly and gave a wonderfully... comprehensive tour, followed by some excellent tastings. After going to several other wineries and having tours we went back tovolcanic hills to join their wine club and purchase some wines as they were delicious! 4 star for food. Ordered bruchetta, Salmon and bbq shrimp. Everything tasted well balanced and tasty. Prices are okay too and... not ultra high. 3 star for view and service. View is okay but of you can get couple miles down to other wineyards such aaQuail's, you'll have much better view. Read more
