The atmosphere is remarkable and it is in a great location. The entrance is pretty much in the middle of an outdoor strip mall.... When you come into the steakhouse you are immediately put into a western vibe with all of the animals and information about thatpart of Texas. Topping it off you have the option to take a window seat and just daze off into the view of the ocean. The breadand appetizers were fabulous and the service was incredible. I got the country-fried steak and gravy with mashed potatoes andcould not even finish half of my plate. Not even just that when it was time to pay and head out. The server brought out to-goboxes and put our food into the boxes for us in bags. That blew my mind and felt extremely different. I want to start this review w/ recognition to our phenomenal server CHRISTOPHER who made it a point to go above and beyond for... my husband's birthday dinner and our 2 year anniversary dinner. Last night was one of the best nights we've had in a long timejust us w/ no kids. The service was outstanding, food was coming out quick and was absolutely delicious. It was our anniversaryso we were going all out, ordering extra (knowing we weren't going to eat everything and have left overs) and not once did ourserver make us feel that we were asking for too much. He chatted w/ us, made sure we were comfortable, introduced us to newoptions on the drink and regular menu, made some good recommendations, was overall a genuine human. I've NEVER, and I've been tohandfuls of restaurants but I've NEVER had service like this. I really hope he gets recognized for his great serving skills.After I got to the car I looked at my husband and said this night was a blessing, we really enjoyed our dinner and he agreed weneed to return ASAP. Our waiter Chris was very attentive. I was disappointed that the Kemah location is not working with a full menu. Because we are... Landry's members and my favorite dish/entree was not on there . But we still enjoyed our dinner & drinks . Margarita was yummyand ???? fruity. Fried Shrimp was delicious. And chopped steak is always my husband's favorite. Read more
The ribeye with Cajun sauce on top is good but review your tab before paying to make sure you are charged what you ordered.... Steak was not grilled at desired temperature but still delicious. Chicken tortilla soup is recommended. Read more
Completely disgusted with this place. Had the worst experience here, my family and I were on vacation from Miami and we were... visiting family in Houston. My cousin decided to take us to Kema Boardwalk and since we were hungry we decided to eat in“SaltGrass Steak House”. We completely expected it to be a great experience since the restaurant looked very “nice” andthe prices were not cheap. It is what you’d expect to be on the higher end steak house. It had a beautiful view and wegenuinely thought we’d have a great experience. But it was the complete opposite. Everything was going fine until we realizedmy mom had a ROACH in her cup. THIS IS DISGUSTING and after that situation happened one of the managers wanted to charge us forthe drinks after this incident. This is upsetting, frustrating and DEFINITELY DISGUSTING. Never a disappointment. First time to this location in Kemah. Sat at the bar and received wonderful service. The roller coaster... is literally right outside the bar window, so that was fun to watch. Food is always great at Saltgrass. This restaurant is veryconsistent throughout all locations! One of our favorite places to eat. Restaurant and bathroom were both very clean. We atelunch on a Saturday afternoon. 2 entrees (one with wedge salad upgrade - it’s the best!) and 2 glasses of wine = $65 withouttip. Hill Country salad and white wine pictured. Great service and food! Our server Ashton was very good. She was very attentive to everything we needed. All orders were correct... , no problems at all. I had 8oz sirloin , grilled shrimp and baked potato. It was excellent , especially the shrimp. Willdefinitely be back!???? Read more
