I love this place. A nice little place where you can sit outside, it feels like a picnic. Also, the food is terrific! Sometimes... you can build your own sandwiches, which I think is wonderful! The service is very friendly (just don't run into the currentowner, he is not friendly at all. I think they had a different owner a few years ago who was much kinder and caring)! They maynot always stay true to their business hours every day, and the current (not former) owner may be impatient and crabby, but thisplace is always worth five stars. At first I had an unpleasant day there once, being sent away five minutes before the timethey closed. But I'm glad I gave them a second chance. The employees were much friendlier to me, and the food (as always) wereperfect. Five stars out of five. Read more
Loved the *build my own* roast beef sandwich! Too much cole slaw for my tastes on the Carnegie so will avoid that topping in the... future. Also the chicken salad looks good but did not have any oranges as stated in its description. Read more
It took me 2 years to get back here but boy was it worth it. I picked up the "Somerset Sandwich" and a side order of tater tots.... Both were equally good! Read more
This is an absolute must for anyone wanting a phenomenal sandwich! Not only is the menu creative, but if you can't find anything... that tickles your fancy, you can build your own sandwich! The selling point for me was the option for gluten free bread. Ialways struggle to find good sandwich places and this was hands down the best gluten free sandwich I've ever had. The buildingitself is a small shack with a small alcove to order and there is only outdoor seating. I wish there was more parking available,as the lot can only accommodate a few cars. Food is phenomenal, service was friendly & fast, super affordable prices, all inall a great experience. Will definitely be back. Read more
Not every great eatery has to be brick and mortar or visually attractive. Some of the best eateries are DIVES. American Melts... should be featured in the Food Networks Diners, Drive-ins and Dives! They take an ordinary grilled cheese and make multiplestops through Flavor Town. The combination of cheeses, proteins, sauces and add-ons is out of bounds! Pictured with this reviewis the Athena (Feta, Mozz, tomatoes, red onions, black olives, and fresh lemon sandwiched between 2 slices of country whitebread and grilled to perfection). Who knew a grilled cheese could be gourmet? This place has the grilled cheese game on lock. And by place I mean shack. There's... no inside, just a few tables and chairs out near the parking lot to enjoy your creation or one of the specials. There may be abit of a wait but it's worth it. Read more
Quality meats and cheeses with awesome crisp on your bread that is meant to enjoyed the minute it comes off the griddle. What a fantastic sandwich shop with lots of sandwich combos. You can also build your own grilled cheese and there are lots of... sides to choose from like tots, mac and cheese, and more. Drinks range from Snapples to water and sodas including Stewart's RootBeer. Sandwiches are a great size - standard bread size as far as i can tell, but there are lots of options there also, likewhite, wheat, etc.. Great ingredients overall. Lots to choose from to customize.
