Reviews for Old Vines Wine Bar in Kennebunk, ME

Our favorite restaurant in the Kennebunks, no contest. The other night we decided to try a new restaurant in Kennebunkport. We... were greeted in enthusiastically, seated at a table in an empty room with no ambiance and a stool with no back, with poundinghouse music. We left and returned to Old Vines where we sat at the bar and shared seasonal tapas and warm and hospitable waitstaff. Guess trying new places can be overrated. Never had a bad meal or less than a friendly welcome. Read more

We really enjoyed our visit to the wine bar. GREAT for GLUTEN FREE diets. Lots of gluten free options across the menu,... including a very good gluten free brownie. As someone who can eat gluten (we ordered it for my wife), I can testify that it’severy bit as good as other brownies I’ve had. Thick, dense, moist, slightly gooey, and delicious. Also pictured is theseafood paella with scallops and mahi mahi. The wine was good. We enjoyed all of our food. The staff is great and the chefclearly knows that they are doing. It’s a tad pricier than I’m used to (we are from the Midwest), but you can’t beat theexperience. We spent about $80 on a glass of wine, hot toddy, 3 dishes (potatoes, seafood paella, brownie), and tip. Read more

We're not wine experts but our server really nailed our taste and hooked us up with a fabulous Riesling and delicious chicken... meatballs and garlic bread. And for dessert, there's a gluten free brownie that is out of this world. Read more

Gorgeously rustic chic atmosphere and seriously delicious food. I attended a private event in the upstairs area and it was... really nice. Servers passed small bites like falafel balls and mini lobster rolls that were perfect for the event, then set outa buffet including Caesar Salad, meatballs in sauce, sliced steak etc. for us to nibble on, then brought out blueberry crumblecups and churro bites for dessert. The bartender was friendly and mixed excellent drinks, including an Espresso Martini. Iwould definitely go back. A very pleasant evening at a pretty venue. Read more

This was our first trip to Maine and we were so pleased to find this spot. The food was very good and they have a great... selection of wine and cocktails. The staff was so friendly and very welcoming and our Bartender Bill really was great to talkwith and he gave us some really great information about the area. While we did dine inside they have a nice outdoor dining areaand the vibe is fun and enjoyable. They are also one of the few establishments that are open in town a bit later, so for a latenight bite or after dinner cocktail this is the place to visit. I would highly recommend it and we look forward to coming againon our next trip to Maine. Read more

If I could give 6 stars I would. I can’t speak more highly of this place. The menu is unique and exquisite (and very... vegetarian-friendly!) and quite reasonable. The flavors are outstanding, the ambiance is beautiful, and the customer service wasfantastic. James was so knowledgeable about our dishes when I had questions. He was also very attentive and so friendly! GETTHE GLUTEN FREE BROWNIE for dessert. Oh my goodness. The Nivik & Naan dish is outstanding too! Read more
