This was a wonderful meal! We’d heard about it and made reservations 2weeks early. I started with the white chowder, it is one... of the best chowders I’ve ever had. We split a bowl of steamers, delicious! Great size, sweet, no sand or grit. I did thefried clams and my wife had the lobster Mac and cheese. My clams were lightly breaded and fried to perfection, not rubbery orgreasy. Her Mac and cheese came in a cast iron pan and was LOADED!! with lobster. She took more than a quarter lb. of lobsterhome!!! Truly a wonderful experience and a must go in Kennebunkport. Read more

A quaint little restaurant with a rustic feel. The calamari appetizer and shrimp scampi linguini were both excellent. The staff... were friendly and attentive. The outside seating is nice. The inside seating is clean but feels a little cramped. As with manycoastal towns that are popular with tourists, parking can be hard to find. Read more

How could you not absolutely love this. Clam chowder was an absolutely amazing appetizer prior to the main dish. 2 pound... savanna baked lobster stuffed with scallops and shrimp. Absolutely the best I’ve ever been able to indulge in. Going backtomorrow. 100% Read more

Thank you Mabel's! Traveling with our 10 lb Terrier in Kennebunkport, and we were told Arundel Wharf Restaurant was dog... friendly. Alas, after waiting in line, the staff told us they do not allow dogs. Don't believe Google or word of mouth. EnterMabel's to save the day! Not only was their food delicious, and they allow dogs, they also brought a personal bowl of water forour pooch! I had the best fried shrimp and onion rings, and they were superb. I had my eye on the Lobster Cobb Salad, too. Willhave to try that next! Always appreciated when well-behaved dogs are allowed to dine with their family, at a place that hasexcellent, fresh food with a great selection. Read more

Knowledgeable, attentive staff helped me make suitable gluten and lactose free choices for an appetizer and entree. Very tasty,... fresh food! Good location is walking distance from the town of Kennebunkport. Make a reservation because they are a localfavorite and is typically full. Read more

Loved the staff. And the chowder was one of the best I have tried. The Lobster was a real treat, and my husband had Fish n... Chips, was good as well. Would highly recommend. And afterwards if you have a car do the drive up and see the houses and oceanview on same street. Read more

Sure it's got a history in Kennebunkport and all that, but I think this is mostly hype! Mabel's is nothing to rave about,... really! I've had better seafood elsewhere. The food was good, service was standard, view and ambiance (for outside seating)during lunch, was unappealing. During my visit, they were making road repairs, so it was a bit of a disturbance, with all thedust and repair vehicles. The price should be more $$$ to $$$$ but expected for good seafood. That said, my first choicecouldn't be made because they supposedly didn't have the batter ready. So I went with my second. The lobster was good, largewhole chunks that looked great in pictures and tasted very fresh! So glad I didn't have to crack and pull the meat out myself. The clam chowder that they boast about was a bit too watery for my likes. A thicker, less potato-based chowder is preferred. Ourserver was a little bit disconnected, borderline not interested in any bit of dialog or salutation. Some may call this behaviora bit snobbish, but maybe it is the neighborhood, aroma of white sea petals, or mostly non-diverse clientele that frequent thisplace. It's like a trip to the lodge at the Hamptons, but without that exclusive membership! Read more

Mabel's was our overall favorite dining experience in Kennebunkport/Kennebunk! I mean, I'd stop just for the little... complimentary blueberry muffins (not pictured). We visited this establishment twice and both times had friendly, fast, andefficient service. The Duke is a MUST HAVE! Don't leave town without treating yourself to it. The sunset and lime basilmocktails were so, so good AND affordable. The blueberry pie was very tasty. The crust was amazing. (I will note I felt it waslacking a little salt, but maybe that's a personal preference) The 2nd time we went (not pictured) we had the Haddock sandwichand Linguine with shrimp added. They were both delicious, but we agree the Duke was what we would wake up craving for. Don'tmiss out on this perfect little joint. Read more
