This is our second visit in 6-months. The food is refined and perfectly balanced. The service is impeccable. You might think It... would be pretentious based on their location but they are absolutely not. We live the easy vibe they have. It?s a fixed menuwith a choice of 3-4 appetizers and entrees. Fantastic restaurant in a fantastic location! The food was delicious!
We had an okay time at Ocean; in our opinion, the quality of the food & service is misaligned to the cost. I had the dover sole,... which required a supplement ($), and it was incredibly bland - hardly any flavor. The best thing on the plate was the gnocchi,which there was not much of. My husband had the halibut, and his was very tasty! I wished I had ordered somethingelse. Additionally, despite the fact that we were celebrating a special occasion, we were given a pretty bad table (and therewas a window-front two-seater corner table available with nobody in it). My husband is 6?5 and we were squeezed into a tinytable in between two other couples. Again, the corner table with more legroom for my husband was free?..disappointing. Finally, we watched as tables that arrived and ordered after us got their food before us. They even had the sameexact orders, but were served first. Eventually our waitress came over to address the delay and said it would be coming soon. Atthat point we?d been seated for over an hour and 15 mins. So, is the ambiance nice? Yes. Beautiful views? Check. Service?Mediocre. Food? Hit or miss, and not worth it at the price point. Read more
My partner and I recently went here for a dinner to celebrate a very special occasion. We requested a table with a view and... they happily provided this to us. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. An amazing view and the experience wasworth every Penny. Thanks to Michael on the front desk for arranging the perfect table for me! New chef and apparently mandate to reduce food costs to below 15 percent. A noticeable difference in food quality and quantity.... I wouldn?t have minded as much had the food actually been excellent. It was uninspired and boring !! Only though process wascost cutting !! We had just cane in from Quebec City and had some amazing meals ! We were hoping for some of the sane herewhich was the case last visit. Maybe they?ll make some positive changes !! If you don't mind spending $200 per person (including tax and tip) for a gorgeous view, good service and mediocre (at best)... food, Ocean is the place for you. Perhaps we got them on an off night but everyone in our party felt like we got ripped off. Read more
