*REAL REVIEW**** As a born Jamaican that lived in Florida and New York I must say Georgia have some if not the worst Jamaican... food I have ever tried in life! After seeing the reviews I decided to try this location and had so much hope because I wasfeening for some yard food. The cabbage was not done and tasted like it was catching (burning) the rice and peas lackedseasoning and worst the chicken was burnt that we had to throw it away. Like the chicken was dry and tougher than rubber andjust nasty. Not even dog should eat this. Now this can not be the jerk the maroons worked hard to create and is a staple in ourculture?! The fact someone served this to customers is disrespectful. To say I am beyond disappointed is an understatement butfern gully, you let mi down bad. Ps: we didn?t see the food until we got home. I ordered the large oxtails with greens/cabbage and Mac on Tuesday June 21st. The portion size on the oxtails was not what I was... expecting. When they gave me my food the bottom of the container was cold in one section. I thought that was odd!!! I get homeand I find out why. The oxtails were cold, the gravy was congealed as if they took them out of the fridge? Appeared to beleftovers! This is my usual go to for Jamaican food but, I may have to find a new spot. I expect fresh food for $29 plus I lefta tip which I don?t normally do for takeout but, I knew my food was going to be great??! Yummy. Stewed chicken has a mild curry flavor that I loved. Plantains could be a little darker, I like them almost burned.... Everything was so filling. Will be back for patties. Read more
The FOOD!!!!! AH- MAZE-ZING!!!! The curry goat was some of the best I have ever had outside of the island! The staff was... courteous and welcoming which made me wonder when I called, lol! I am glad I went into this establishment! The atmospherereminded me of the restaurants/bars in St. Ann and was very homey! You will not be disappointed! First time here and I personally enjoy the amazing flavor of the food. We tried Ox tail and Jerk Chicken. The portions are... served well, just how we like it. The reason why I?m not giving a 5 star review are: 1. We had planned a date night but as soonas we walked inside we decided not to dine in the restaurant because it?s SUPER HOT inside. I don?t think the establishment hasan AC unit. 2. An employee was sleeping at one of the booths. Another, the cashier was in the phone and was not even aware thatwe had come in and standing there for a few minutes waiting for service. 3. When we got home, we open our food containers andright away realize our order was wrong. They gave us someone else?s order. I had to drive back to the restaurant to get my orderright, and again, the cashier was on the phone unaware I had come in. Read more
I thought it was expensive when I paid for my family of 4 but when I got the food I realized why! Huge portion sizes even the... small was more than most places have for a large! Delicious! I got take out of the stew chicken and sides of rice and peas and fried plantains. I was blown away at the proportion... I received ? this was only $10!! Everything was delicious. I love spicy food, but opted for the stew chicken (not spicy) insteadof the jerk chicken as I was craving something with more sauce and wanted something different. The meat was so tender, it felloff the bone with just a slight stab of my fork. The rice and peas were also delicious ? not overly coconut in flavor, which iswhat I prefer.
