The best BBQ around! We have searched for a good BBQ place near us for years without success. We drove 30 minutes to try out... Hood's BBQ, and we were not disappointed. Our family will not go anywhere else for BBQ after today. We will definitely be back.Great food, menu options, portions, service, and ambiance. Love the decor inside. Wish I had better pics to show. It got very busy and I didn't see many servers (in their defense my back... was to them) so we did wait a long time to have are order taken and to then be told we have to get our own drinks at the bar.Our server was very helpful in menu decisions and once the food order was in, it did come out timely. The food was delicious!!!I love the mushroom soup. I could have taken a gallon home. The platter was so yummy. Good portion size, not to little, not toomuch. I so wanted to try their pumpkin dessert but sadly I couldn't fit it in my stomach no matter how much I wanted to ????.Guess a good reason to go back! Read more
I ordered the beef brisket; I had been passing this cool location on my way to and from work for some months, and finally and... impulsively stopped in. The brisket was offered as part of a meal, including Hood's own baked beans , and slaw. I wasdisappointed; the brisket was all over the place: some pieces chewy and over cooked, others grisly , others what I had hoped for[ smoky and moist and slightly crispy on the edges ] - a sort of catch as catch can. The baked beans were delightful, albeittoo watery [ worth purchasing and reducing down a bit ]. The beans were cooked perfectly , and clearly have a distinctive andunique recipe . The slaw was workmanlike, but ultimately disappointing - I kept thinking about the exceptional baked beans,wondering why the slaw was not given over as much love. Clearly, Hood's has 'delivered the goods' [ their remarkable amount ofyears in business ] , so I attribute my experience with the brisket as an off day- I also love that it is a generational familybusiness- the sort of business I particularly love supporting. So, yes, I will be back - I think I will try the pulled chicken... in time I will, once again, stop by impulsively and order the brisket. Stay tuned - Read more
An amazing hole in the wall BBQ joint. The food is phenomenally delicious. It was such a surprise that it was so good but it... should have been obvious given the reviews on this place. If you are in the area it is so worth the visit. I will definitely beback again and again and again. Read more
Hood's was a great destination. Group of 9 adults coming from MD and NY went after a few hours of waking through Longwood... Gardens Christmas. After looking around on the web for restaurants somewhat local to the Gardens, we found Hood's BBQ. Theironline presence seemed like they would have value priced American fare, with nice photos, and great reviews. We were VERYpleased all around! The parking was ample and convenient, the decor bright and pleasing, and the service was extremelyfriendly, funny, welcoming, and fast. The food was absolutely delicious! Everything from appetizers/salads, sides, and entreeswere fresh, homemade, and top notch! I think the Honey Fried Chicken and Brisket were the two most common orders in our groupand we loved every bite! Their homemade BBQ sauce was the best I'd ever had, so I made sure to buy a bottle. Mmmm If you're inthe area... wait, scratch that. MAKE PLANS to be in the area, even if only to make Hood's BBQ your destination. You will NOTbe disappointed! Read more
Food is excellent and also gluten free options. Everyone was pleased with their meals. Very nice atmosphere too.
