My husband and I came in for dinner last night for my birthday. It was our first time there. Being in the food industry... myself, I can confidently say this was one of my favorite restaurant experiences in a long time! The server was great, thedrinks were delicious, our food was perfect and the owner/chef stopping to say hello and make sure our food was to our likingwas classy! The view is gorgeous, the building and facilities are elegant, it is detached from every noise, yet close enough and the Chef is... superb! The quality of the meat is perfect and all the flavors blend together. I keep going back. Read more

My wife and I were recently married here at The Overlook. I wish I could say it went flawless, that everything was exactly how... it was described and how everything was promised. We conversed with the owners more than a year out and were nothing but kindand courteous. We had met on several occasions to discuss wedding details, topics, and day-of information with their staff andmembers of our wedding party. We had even visited for dinner on multiple occasions with various family members. The views wereamazing, the food just as amazing and everything seemed to be falling into place perfectly. The owners stayed in touchthroughout the whole process and up until the day before the wedding. Luckily having arrived at the same time as our vendors,finding out that the chair rentals were miscommunicated to the rental company but was quickly sorted to have them redirectedinside the venue. Quick fix. We realized that the preparations for the building had not been completed as previously promised.As if it was forgotten that an outdoor wedding was to be performed the next day. All of the flower beds, planters, and pots werecompletely empty. Containing no more than dirt and a few dead plant remanences. They were promised to be lined with flowers forthe day of the wedding. 2 of the beds ended up mulched but no flowers made it to the ceremony. We had to send themother-of-the-bride to Lowes, to buy potted flowers, to pot our own flowers, hours before the ceremony. Multiple details of ourday had been completely overlooked and forgotten. All of which were discussed previously with numerous people in attendance.Once reminded of those details, they were accommodated accordingly by the staff. The evening of the rehearsal, we were nowprovided new information that the decorating for the wedding could not start until after 9pm. My husband and I were recently married at The Overlook and our entire experience could not have been better. My mother and... sister planned the wedding and were treated extremely well by everyone there as they arranged the event. Clarissa was veryhelpful, accessible, and communicative. The atmosphere was elegant, the food was delicious, and all staff were so helpful, warm,and kind! We loved everything so much that we returned to the restaurant 4 days later for my mother's birthday! The Overlook was a great venue for our wedding! Pros - A lot. Great location. Outdoors with an amazing view of East Lake. Great... food. Everyone reviewing this place raves about the food and they are all true. We loved the salmon and our guests talked aboutthe food for weeks. Flexible. Responsive. Worked with us on Covid stuff. Pricing was really good, especially compared to otheroutdoor venues in Ohio. We picked out The Overlook initially because we loved the outdoor area and the ability to have ourwedding outdoors. Then once the COVID pandemic struck, this really worked out in our favor and we moved even more events outsidelike our first dance and speeches. Our wedding was in September 2020. All of our guests loved the outdoor venue and werecomfortable during our wedding despite the pandemic, and we were comfortable too. We had to downsize our guest list and theOverlook was very accommodating with our required pandemic wedding changes. We had our rehearsal dinner here as well andeverything went very smoothly with this. The food was awesome all weekend. Cons - The rehearsal dinner was kind of pushed backbecause they were hosting a wedding that was pushed back due to COVID on the same day. There was some confusion with schedulingon this date. In addition, the coordinating/planning team changed hands 2 times during the year and a half planning process.This is not a big deal if you as the bride and groom have your details together. We hired a day-of coordinator and the Overlookstaff worked closely with our hired coordinator, which was very appreciated. Without our day-of coordinator, things would havebeen fine but we would have been concerned about many little details that he Overlook would not have covered alone. Read more
In town for business for a few days and I wanted to try some place local & unique. I was not disappointed! Food was great and so... was the staff and the atmosphere. Planning on making a trip back next month so I can bring my wife. Read more
