Stopped here while waiting to go to Ray's. We went back afterwards. Fun spot. Staff was good and the clientele were a blast.

Cool interior, but why does every bartender act so snobby here compared to pretty much every other bar in Kent? Get over... yourselves. Read more

The Venice Cafe is actually a bar from 1941. The Erie Street Diner is in the same place. Our bartender was PJ. Excellent fellow!... Served good drinks, local information and we dined from Erie Street! What a jewel both places are. I highly recommend it! Read more

Excellent southern food that, for Clevelanders, rivals if not beats BSBR or even New Orleans. Excellent shrimp and grits,... lobster poutine (ok that is a french canadian spin), and Jambalaya. The chef was walking around greeting tables. It was a bignight in the area- some type of "Beatles live music in every venue" - so we were lucky to get a booth to sit in and enjoy themusic. The drinks were well-priced. Three out of our party of five were drinking and we walked out at $120 with tip. So, perhaps not for the college students and they appear to know that is not their market but great considering just about everywhere else.Great Friday night! Read more

Terrible bar service. Three bartenders; maybe three or four seated customers. I politely stood and waited?no luck. Customer... walks up behind me; bartender looks past me; takes his order; leaves me unserved. Server does not ask who?s next. What adisappointment. Never again. Good bartenders constantly scan for waiting customers. Not in this dump. Read more

Only popped in for 1 drink. Greeted with retro lighting and affordable pricing. Would like to stop back when I can try the food... and better review this place. Read more

The menu says Erie Street Kitchen, but it is inside The Venice. I went on a Saturday night at 6:30, and it was pretty busy. We... had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. You order food at a counter and wait for it to be delivered to your table. We had achicken tender po boy with hushpuppies and a lobster roll with lobster bisque. My friend liked his po boy and when asked if hewould order it again he said absolutely. My lobster roll was the best one I've ever had. I travel for a living and have hadthem in many cities on the coast and was shocked to sample one that was so tasty and jammed full of meat this far from an ocean. Read more
