We arrived at Cheryl's and a very skilled pianist was playing very loudly inside. We opted for the patio which was very... pleasant, we enjoyed the afternoon, downtown Kernville and some great food for Thanksgiving '22. The $25. Special began with arelish tray and a little sad onion soup (a piece of toast and cheese would have made it), the dinner was served on a huge plate.My favorite was the sweet potato casserole. We also had a veggie pattie melt which was very good, grilled to perfection. TheApple crumb pie with coffee was also delish and our waitress super nice and attentive. Checked this place out the day after eating at the Cracked Egg, since it seems like there is a bit of a town rivalry between the... two! Definitely more of an "atmosphere" here, but the food is JUST as good, and so is the service. I ordered Corned beef hashwith eggs and potatoes - delicious! We also liked being able to see the town from the window. The wait staff were also bringingsides of bacon to the pups sitting outside. Super lovely place. Read more
As a long time fan I stopped in for breakfast with a friend and had a normal size meal; 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns and coffee.... We waited 10 minutes on a not very busy morning for someone to ask us if we wanted coffee. The bill was $45 and the waitress hadthe nerve to ask for a tip before I even saw the bill. I understand covid suppressed the economy but this place is trying tomake up for lost ground too hard. After 15 years of regular visits, I'm done with this greasy spoon joint. Read more
Rude hostess young girl, took 1 hour and 10 minutes for our food to arrive, it was literally just eggs sausage and hash browns... all which cook fast, the guy next to us came in later and received his food before us. This place was great! Our waitress was such a sweet girl. She checked on us regularly, made sure that our coffee was hot and... that we were happy with our food. And the food was very good. My husband got breakfast - delicious cheese omelette with friedpotatoes and English muffin.I had a patty melt and french fries.Everything was really good. The service was good. They were very busy but we received our food in a timely manner. The biscuits and gravy were OK, one of... the biscuits was kind of burnt and gravy was warm, not hot. The eggs and hash browns were very good, however, the sausage linkstasted like they were microwaved. One of my favorite diners ever! Friendly, cozy, feels like home. The gals working always are so nice and tend to your needs. ... The food was fresh, tasted so yummy!
