Food is bland and not worth eating. Service is sluggish. The fried mozzarella are basic thin mozzarella sticks. Boneless wings... are chicken fingers. 2nd attempt at this place. Same dissapointment with the quality of food. With that said the drinks aredecent, beer is fresh, and the trivia nights with "DJ Trivia" are great thus far!! Read more

I went first week of August 2022. I thought the food was pricey but good. It would of been nice if there was more meat on the... corn beef sandwich w/ fries for $13. They added 3% charge using credit card which should have been disclosed on menu. I willtry dining again there. Read more

The staff are great! I ordered a chicken Caesar salad. HUGE portion of chicken, but it was very dry and chewy and the lettuce... was drowning in dressing. The beer cheese is delicious. My husband’s corned beef sandwich was just corned beef on dry ryetoast, nothing else (cheese, condiments, no pickle!) I love coming here for the bar and atmosphere but not that thrilled withthe food. Keyport is a nice little area with some good eats and this is one of them. Last night was our second time there and the food was... delicious. We had the Bavarian pretzel to start, which was huge, and it comes with three sauces. A mustard, cheese, and caramel(which sounded odd to me but after trying it, dubbed it my favorite of the three) I had the Shepherds Pie and though it was alarge portion, I managed to clear my plate because it was very good. My wife had the Salmon and she was pleased with her food aswell. I saw some of the other food being brought out and it all looked very good so we'll definitely be back because there areother menu items we want to try. Read more

After sitting at our table for 10 minutes having not received any silverware or visit from the waitstaff, my chum and I decided... we'd get up and leave if no one showed up in the next four minutes. The waiter showed up with two minutes to spare. Given howthe experience went after that, I honestly wish he hadn't and that we'd gone somewhere else. I came here this past Saturdaywith my Millennial Chum for a late lunch around 2, 2:30pm. Initially it looked fairly busy with the remnants of the lunch crowd, but the place got progressively emptier as the meal went on. McDonagh's is centrally located in downtown Keyport and therestaurant interior is very spacious - the main room with the bar island was large, and it looked like they had a slightlysmaller dining room off to the side, along with an outdoor area for warmer weather. The decor reminded me a little of a ThatcherMcGee's, though instead of recreating an Irish cottage, the walls were decorated with what looked like spiffy NYC barstorefronts, if that makes sense. And it's clearly a popular spot with the locals, which certainly counts forsomething. Food-wise, I wasn't impressed. I ordered a plain hamburger medium rare, and my chum got the brick oven wings withThai sauce. The hamburger was cooked medium well instead and was super greasy - every time I picked it up and slightly squeezed, drops of grease would fall down next to the fries. Not particularly appetizing. When I would put the burger down between bites,I had to carefully maneuver it so the grease didn't get soaked back into the bun. I tried the wings and didn't like them verymuch. I'm not a huge wing person, but they were super dry and pretty bland - the Thai sauce was fine but sparingly distributed,so I barely tasted it, even when I was intentionally trying to get a saucier bite. For what it's worth, the Millennial Chumliked them more than I did, though admitted toward the end of the adventure that they were indeed pretty dry. The portion forthe Read more

Walked the town's local area of shops and took in the waterfront in the afternoon. McDonagh's colorful outdoor appearance drew... us in. We grabbed some apps and beers. Boneless Wings and Short Rib Tator Tots. Good beer selection. Lots of TVs to take in theafternoon football games. Our table allowed us a small glimpse of a water view. The tator tots were delicious, the wings wereok. They were very large chicken breasts but didn't have as much Buffalo flavor in the breading as expected. The tots werecrunchy with flavorful short rib meat, cheese and fried egg on the top. Read more
