Very friendly staff and check in and at the restaurant in the morning. Clean room with extra towels and dog friendly. Only $15... per pet! Dinner is popular though so call to be placed on the waitlist if you?re headed that way. Looked like they had a decentselection of wine and a nice dinner menu. What a fun unique restaurant! The server was amazing and patient! The burger was delicious! And the fries are the best I have... tasted I'm a long time! You can also change it to a bison burger for a couple of dollars more. They salads are super big withgreat tasting chicken! We will be back! Read more

I?m from Louisiana and my husband is from NYC. We know good food and we?re picky. We didn?t come to the Mount Rushmore area for... the food. The Powder House Restaurant was a pleasant surprise. It?s the best food I?ve ever head in a ?square state? ????. I hada 12 oz ribeye and twice baked potato and my husband had the wild game platter with Buffalo, elk, and quail. Everything wasdelicious. The meat was cooked exactly how we ordered. I didn?t feel like the steak needed any sauce. This place doesn?t look?touristy? but delivers. Make a reservation or check in online or you may wait over an hour for a table. Our children were alsowell taken care of. The bartender gave our four year old cherries and lemonade and a hostess brought our little one colors and acoloring page when she saw he was unhappy. Highly recommended. Read more
Restaurant Review: The Powder House restaurant food and service were excellent. The Pork shank and Powder House chicken were... outstanding. We wanted to sit outdoors on their popular porch so we had to wait, but we were able to have a drink outdoors whilewaiting. Even though it was an hour within closing they got us in, fed us and were pleasant. Great customer service from themature hostess as well as the server. Most dinners are between $10 and $20 per person. Read more
Stopped in from Colorado and we LOVED IT! It was super close to our hotel and Mt. Rushmore. Before you go, call ahead and ask if... you can join the waiting list?this gave us time to check out local shops before dinner but still were assured a table. Theplace is massive and offers a large dining room inside, an outside area with walls that open with garage doors, and a patio. Itwas pretty busy when we went but we still got everything super quick and it was delicious. The prime rib was to die for.Absolutely reccomend for families, couples, solo dining or big groups! Now only to be fair I only ate at the restaurant and didn't stay at the hotel. The restaurant has a Moose Lodge feel to it. It... has plenty of seating all around with nice areas looking outside in the local hills. The food is all really well done, and youget plenty of it! This would have been a 5-star review except our waiter was either so shy or was so new didn't know how toservice a table really well. If the server was a little more attentive to us this would have been an excellent review insteadof a very good one! Don't take my experience as a bad or negative against this place. Food was excellent and service was very good. Enjoyed it so much that we came two times during our five night visit to the area.... Baseball steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked. They could rival any Ruth?s Chris or Morton?s, but at a reasonable price.Chicken parm and cordon blue were both very good. Parking lot was tight, and be prepared to have a short wait for a table, butthey have a small bar in the back and you can have a drink on the patio while waiting.
