My wife and I have had dinner here five times during the past few years. The atmosphere and service is fabulous, as are the... appetizers, but after 5 tries I still have not had a good steak. I don't mind paying $60-70-80 for a steak, but make it good. They say it's Prime meat...I've had better choice steaks that I've purchased from Publix and grilled. So go for the atmosphere,but not for a great steak dinner! Read more
We had the most amazing meal here! Finishing up a wonderful week in Kiawah and thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Our server,... J.T., was so helpful in choosing a wine to complement our meal and gave us the best recommendations for items to order. He waspersonable and so sweet to our 3 year old daughter. The entire restaurant staff went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyedour meal and made the evening unforgettable for our sweet girl! The Tuna Poke was an amazing appetizer and the scallops were thebest I've ever eaten! Dessert was amazing as well, highly recommend the Key Lime cheesecake and they even added chocolate sauceand sprinkles to our daughter's dessert. Unless you are a Sanctuary guest, obtaining a reservation more than 3 days in advance of your desired date is all but... impossible. It appears Management blocks most of the tables until they are sure arriving guests aren?t going to dine there. Recently, at At the Jasmine Porch, another restaurant at the Sanctuary, we were told in advance they were fully booked - mywife and I went ahead anyway that night and were shocked to see less than 20% of the tables occupied, and we were seatedimmediately, and the restaurant never got 1/2 full the entire evening. Excellent food but extremely poor and callus management,and poor reservation system. There are better places on Kiawah and Charleston. Read more
I was pleasantly surprised by The Ocean Room? the food was outstanding! While it is a steakhouse and i had all fish, i was... wildly impressed. The Ahi tuna was masterful, as was the king crab starter. Dishes were eloquently plated and everything waslight. Even the chocolate ganache dessert was light and interesting. Always incredible! The service was perfect and the food delicious. Brian made excellent recommendations and everyone treated us... so special. We ordered the roasted oysters and the oysters on the half shell, bison carpaccio, scallops and striped bass. Weloved it all! Read more
This place is exquisite! More than just great food but The Ocean Room provides a wonderful dinner experience. We visited for my... husband's birthday and I'm so glad we did. The view of the ocean was amazing. We started with a cocktail named theswallow-tailed kite that I absolutely loved. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the creamed spinach was some of the best Ihave had honestly. This is definitely worth the money and trip to Kiawah. The service was also unmatched. Ten stars! Terrific ambience with highly attentive and well trained, pleasant staff. The food was beyond delicious. I got the iceberg wedge... and split the tomahawk ribeye with my son.
