I’ve been going here for almost 10 years. Overall the quality of the food is still good but I’ve taken a star off for the... limited menu and the new location’s ambiance. The menu prior to the move and covid was a 4-5 page book of options that couldaccommodate anyone’s dietary restrictions and preferences which was amazing for diverse groups. It was our go to sushi placewhen having guests because those who didn’t like seafood had reasonable options. The tempura (shrimp and veggie) was amazing. They no longer have it sadly. Luckily they still have the mango crab hand roll which is excellent. Now your options fornon-seafood related meals are two appetizers or $70-80 steaks. The old location felt like an experience and that you weren’tin a strip mall. Now it feels like a strip mall experience. Overall, the food is still good but don’t expect the sameexperience as prior to the move. I’d give 3 1/2 stars but I’m giving them the benefit of the 4. Read more

Good things : Food was good while portion was small for it price and waitress who served us was good too. Bad things : We came... at 5pm when it was open without reservation. While there are plenty of empty tables, we were seated at the corner, secluded fromeveryone else. When we were about to be done, another asian family were seated behind us which is even more secluded.Coincidence when theres still plenty of empty tables in the main area? Went here with friends that live in Maui on a Sunday night when dishes are half price. Need to line up before 5 to get seated. ... Pricing is good until I think 5:30. Miso butterfish is amazing. Love the pickled cucumbers, they complimented the fish so well. My kids ordered their rolls and one... thing we were not too keen on was having sweet chili sauce on the rolls … a bit confusing. Our server was great, she was veryknowledgeable with the food. Felt like sushi on our last night in Maui had the great fortune to find this gem on google map! Since we didn’t have a... reservation they could only seat us at the sushi bar which was a score! Host was fantastic and reviewed some of his favouriteswith us which we did end up choosing most of them. WOW! I’m worried every sushi meal after this will nevercompare! Combinations and flavours! 5/20/22 Was looking for a place to dine at a bar due to the unusual humid weather. Sansei had always been on my radar but it... always looked closed from the outside because of the frosted glass. Glad I checked out the website and knocked on the door. Thusreview is specially geared towards DK, the owner. I hear he's been at this location for a little while trying to overcome thelabor boondoggle that's challenging everyone and everywhere. Your first impression and setting the tone of the evening is whoyou trust to put at the door. Kaitlyn and Mia did a great job handling two ringing lines, taking a family in, and acknowledgingme. Throughout the night, I noticed them working well as a team and helping to turn tables. Really great to see teamwork likethat with a younger team. It can be hard to find. Sitting at the bar, David did a quick and efficient job of greeting, explaining specials, suggesting, and checking back. I appreciated his recommendations and candor. Of course, the food is tasty,and reasonable, especially during happy hour. Place is spacious, high ceiling, clean and pleasant. One of the few places witha/c in the area btw. In these challenging times, you can see little shortcuts in the menu but it is still of good value.Moreover, it's nice to see an overall staff working well together and keeping the restaurant running well. Everyone was busy andpleasant. I sincerely hope they prevail. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. If they are busy, be patient. Everyone isshort staffed but you'll enjoy your time.
