My disabled boyfriend came by this store today and was greeted by someone who ended up following him around, and while he waited... in line for the bathroom, she harassed him. She stood behind him and shouted, ?Do you need any help?? passive aggressively whilestanding behind my boyfriend, which really scared him. He has trouble hearing due to his disability, and once he shared he wasin line for the bathroom, the worker left him alone. She did not ask anyone else in the bathroom line this question or botherany other customers in the store. This person intentionally was bothering my boyfriend and no one else. Please be morerespectful and considerate, and don?t profile people that are just trying to utilize the facilities of your store. Read more

Yes it's a bookstore not the public library. If you want to read the book buy it and take it home. If you want to sit around for... hours reading books go to the public library, there is plenty of seating. Read more

No help finding books by staff. They also burn the coffee at Starbucks; super unpleasant smell. It was a real turnoff being in... the store...bad service & bad coffee. Read more

Not a great selection, feel cramped trying to browse with narrow aisles and tables better suited to a larger space. Cafe is nice... and I mostly go for a Starbucks treat and quick browse at new titles. Overall, if I want more time browsing and hanging out,I'll go to the store in Newburgh or Poughkeepsie. I find that Newburgh has the friendliest and most helpful staff. Read more

I was excited about this store, even encourage my mom to go there while doing laundry. It was a disappointment. Not enough... seating near the books. The person I was with was older and wanted to be able to look through the books to find what she waslooking for. Very difficult for someone with a bad back. The selection seems ok, but books are sometimes twice the price ofAmazon. I bought 3, as they were close to the Amazon price and from smaller publishers. The Starbucks doesn't take Starbucksgift cards or coupons!? So I ended up having to go down the road to a real Starbucks to use a gift from my boss... Lastly don'task us, espy black people if they need help in a book store more that 2 times in 20 minute. We are not shop lifting and do notneed the help from retail staff who are usually no help. I've worked in retail, it doesn't deter the real shoplifting, usuallyyou white women, but pushes away people with buying power like me, who will just use Amazon moving forward. Retail continues tofail because of out of touch policies, and poor management. The staff were nice enough, in that way where that are pretending. If my older black mother complained about being asked for help and the awkward fixing of books that are already neat is classicand you just have to laugh at how passive aggressive society has become. It's a book store, stand behind the counter and don'tbother us. Thanks. Read more

I had to write a review after reading a few on here - I grew up with the "old" Barnes and noble, and yes , it was bigger , had... more selection and I did prefer it , however I'm so so happy to have Barnes and noble back, there is a decent selection for thesize and the customer service is still the same country vibe , the staff are great people who read and love books and canactually give you a good recommendation. Welcome back! Read more

The new Barnes and Noble feels smaller than the last, but I like the way it?s laid out a lot better. It?s easy to find the kind... of book you?re looking for, and you can always ask one of the helpful staff if you need assistance. The café is great, theirstaff are also trying their best to give the customers a good experience. There?s some seating by the books which is nice, andthe natural light really makes the whole place shine. There?s a very wide selection of books, especially fiction books. Thereare also some cool posters by the registers for $4.95, which is something I didn?t expect. I?ve been there two days in a row andI can?t wait to go back. Read more
