Fellow vegans, beware! The special described to me by the waitress included bacon and I informed her, no thanks, I am vegan. I... ordered the $15 two taco with one side special. Both tacos consisted of veggies. When the food arrived, my black beans weresprinkled with queso blanko. When I complained to the waitress and reminded her that I am a vegan, she said ?I told you to readthe menu carefully? because the veg tacos were smothered in mayo and some cheese (surprise!). I reminded again her that I wasvegan, no dairy no meat. She offered to scrape the non-vegan elements off my order. I paid the bill (no tip) and left. Enter atyour own risk. Read more
Dim place. The food was okay I got the taco box with a side of slaw and my friend got the taco box with the side of pickled... veggies. She also got the corn chowder. She said the chowder was really good I definitely thought that it was really small for7 dollars. I was really happy with my fried batter fish taco but the Al pastor taco in my opinion could have had more meat Ithought it?s was kinda pricy for what I received . I was kinda disappointed. I was also recommended the slaw as a side and idkwhy because it was so bland. Definitely missing something. My friends pickled veggies were good but we felt it shouldn?t be aside but a few just put on the taco. That?s just my opinion. Read more
Diego's is AWESOME! Stopped in while visiting Kingston and had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Isaac, who could not have been... more kind and welcoming. This place to most people is probably just a taco shop - a place to grab a quick dinner and a drink. To the owner and employees... of Diego?s Taqueria, it?s something they pour their heart and soul into every day, a revenue generator, and way to pay bills andlive. To me and my daughter who were working on a movie in the Kingston area 4 years ago and stumbled on this place because welove tacos, it?s an amazing memory and experience that we will carry with us as long as we live. Great food is like great music,both have the amazing ability to transport you back to a better time and place! So, thanks to the waitress who convinced us totry a Smoky Beet taco 4 years ago! Because of her and that awesome flavor the chef created, Diego?s Taqueria will always be anamazing memory for me and my daughter! When I found out we would be filming again in the area, I had to come back here firstand it didn?t disappoint! I just wish my daughter could have been here to experience it with me. Next time? Came to this area for work from Pennsylvania. This made the 4.5 hour trip in the car worth it. Friendly staff, quaint little... atmosphere, excellent food. Limited seating but so worth the wait. Slaw was very light and pleasing to the palette. Streettacos were bigger than expected. Wish I could have ordered 1 of everything on the menu. Definitely coming back to visit withthe wife. I paid $30 for ONE piece of corn, cut in half, a cup of guacamole and a cup of rice and beans that was 90% rice. As a Mexican... woman with family who is from Cotija, I was also disappointed in how bland their Cotija cheese was. The corn sauce isflavorless. Rated 3 stars because I saw staff cleaning and I was given my food in an orderly time frame, but for 3 appetizersit?s too much money. Corn, rice and beans are extremely cheap, so I can?t justify the cost and will likely never return. I didntknow this was a fast-casual food chain until I looked it up for this review. Read more
I cannot recommend the strawberry margarita enough!! So many places use mixes or syrups, and Diego?s used simple ingredients to... make such a clean, crisp drink. We were able to sit outside with our dog, and the staff was nice enough to bring out a littlewater dish for her. I had the 3 sisters taco - it was good but simple, so I used their kiwi jalapeño hot sauce to give it someflavor pop. My boyfriend really liked the cauliflower bites. This was an absolute treat. We picked this place for dinner simply because it was the highest rated tacos in town, but we got... more than just a bomb dinner. The tacos were impeccable, and the margaritas were to die for. We had to meet the chef, who turnedout was one of the owners. Ended up spending a few hours at the bar with the owners, sharing music on the TV and watching theepisode of Chopped they were featured in...some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and I willcertainly be frequenting more often for food, drinks, and community. We also discussed the possibility of performing live music,so keep your eyes open for lively evenings in the future. Read more
