Absolutely delicious. Very authentic. The portions are well within price range. Great service and you truly get the mala... spiciness! Numbing but so fragrant. The noodles doesn't even get soggy on take out. It's a gem and please support them! Youwon't regret it! Read more

Craving for a bowl of noodles, I went here for the first time on New Year’s Eve for take out. The place had a great family... feeling to it. The lady at the front was very sociable and helpful when I was ordering, even when I wasn’t sure and switchedup my order. The guys at the back had good vibes coming out of the kitchen as well! I ordered the chongqing noodles and somechicken and cabbage dumplings. I went for the highest of 3 spice levels for the noodles and it was just perfect. The wheatnoodles were perfectly chewy and very well garnished. I was very pleasantly surprise by what was a big portion for 9.50$. Thefried dumplings were perfectly crispy, and to my pleasant surprise, they were soup dumplings. And I mean SOUP dumplings. Everydumpling was FILLED with broth, chicken and cabbage. Give this place a try. You will not regret it. And happy 2022!:) Read more

Wow. Absolutely mind-blown (or taste-blown). So much flavour and so much texture! Ordered the stewed pork intestine noodles -... wonderfully delicious. Chose mild as the spicy level, I should've gone for a level higher; mild barely begins to tastespicy...great for beginners though! The noodles and soup were separately packaged, which is amazing because it prevents thenoodles from getting soggy. There were around 5 pieces of generously sized intestines. The soup base was just right, goodamount of saltiness and a good amount of spices to bring out the taste of the dish. Hope to dine in soon, can't wait for covidto end!! Read more

Absolutely delicious south-central China authentic cuisine with a menu that you wouldn’t see elsewhere in the West Island (or... Montreal for that matter). Opened recently and I hope will stay a long time. Street noodles / dumplings and a variety of meats. Will definitely go back! Ps easy on the spice level to start - was recommended mild spice, got a decent « mala » kick! Read more

I always seek out the best I can find in regional cuisines, Sichuan being one of my favourites. Way out in the West Island... Montréal suburb of Kirkland is Mala Express. It is worth the trip, and conveniently located just a minute off the 40. I wantedto order everything on the menu. Being by myself, I opted for chicken and cabbage dumplings, cold Sichuan noodles, and ofcourse, hot and spicy cucumbers. All were just fantastic. The dumplings were some of the best in terms of flavour and alsotexture, nicely crisp on the bottom. They are served with a delicious peanut sauce. The cold noodles were chewy and fresh, topped with scallions and thin slices of cucumber and chicken (which I am sure could be omitted to make it vegetarian) and thesauce was intense and savoury with chili, garlic, soy, peanuts, and peppercorns. The cucumbers are slightly more saucy butequally intense and savoury. The staff are gracious and friendly. They even let me taste each dish and and add extra blackvinegar, soy, and chili oil to my liking before leaving. Read more
