I went with 2 other people and we found the service to be appalling. We ordered about 30 items total over the course of 2 hours... and we received 10 items total, not at once, not in waves, but about every half hour. Even after notifying the staff andreordering or ordering less so that they could keep up (going from 5-7 items an order to 2-4) they still only brought maybe oneor two items. All the while, a couple next to us got multiple plates of sushi, left with their plates still full and didnt getcharged the extra for leaving behind food. And all while the family behind us had consistent food delivered to them as well asthe only other two tables. The restaurant was not particularly busy, as far as seating is concerned either. Once we went to paywe voiced our concerns and not only did they not offer a discount or condolences or anything at all, they decided that at theend of our duration there to notify us that some items were simply unavailable. All things i would have been fine with if theyhad properly communicated that or if those items that couldn't be served weren't on the menu. All in all, 0 out of 10. I dontfully blame the servers or staff but I went from loving going to naras and recommending it to everyone i know to now. I willnever eat here again, nor will I ever recommend it to anyone again. Very disappointing and frankly for 125 dollars extremelyupsetting. Read more

Not a good experience. The waitress never came to our table and the other waiter just stood in the corner playing on his phone.... Sushi isn't the freshest and they didn't accomodate me when I asked for something specific. Told me they would do it and broughtme the opposite of what I wanted. Not happy with this place. Read more

One of the best 'All You Can Eat' Sushi places in the Waterloo/Kitchener region. They have a wide variety of sushi, rolls and... maki. I loved their 'Nara Specials'. Read more

I'm conflicted with this review because the food is actually awesome. I haven't had sushi in a long time and I really enjoy it... here. The quality is great when it comes to the food. However, the service is terrible. Our server only took drink orders forhalf our table. Never asked if we needed refills. We asked for wasabi twice and it never came. Some of our rolls were forgotten. We ordered icecream at the end of the meal and it was as if our server was avoiding bringing it to us. After waiting for over 20mins, we decided to just leave. We felt like an inconvenience to them which is very unfortunate at a place where the food is sogood. Read more

We were so disappointed tonight with our meal at Nara. We went to celebrate mother's day (a few days late) with our family... (party of 6). We have eaten here numerous times before and have loved it. Unfortunately this time that was not the case. Thefood quality has definitely gone downhill. The meat was all tough, they brought us 4 times as much food as we ordered in many ofthe items we ordered. The salmon was "slimey", the shrimp rolls were soggy in the middle, the pieces of sushi were really fullof rice and not much actual fish or filling. They e increased the prices significantly but the food quality has gone down. Wewon't be returning. There is a lot of competition for sushi in the KW area this meal did not measure up. Read more

It took me a long time to try this restaurant because of the reviews on Google maps. During the pandemic, I tried it as takeout... and it became my go-to sushi place. It is not a traditional Japanese restaurant, but it's a great Western Japonese restaurant.Sushi is well prepared and staff is always nice and friendly - at least for takeout order. I ordered sashimi a few times and itwas good and fresh. I usually order the Maki for 3 (picture 1) or Maki for 4 (picture 2). Read more
