I hate having to leave a bad review because I have fond memories of coming here when I was younger. Maybe it was an off night,... but it will be a long time, if I ever give it another shot. I ordered a med-rare Prime rib. It came out med-well, and unevenlycooked. They ended up bringing me another one that was even more well done, which was kind of insulting, and would've preferredthem being upfront if they were just out of it. The third time they brought me a medium, at that point, I didn't want tocomplain anymore and just ate it. It wasn't bad but not that melt in your mouth, rich flavor I remember. Then my wife's salmonwas unseasoned, (fine but not that great), the red velvet cake was extremely dry, and a culmination of other small things notworth mentioning. But they comped it, and everyone was nice, so I tried to get past it and cut my losses, even though it waspretty disappointing for my birthday. But then I woke up in the middle of the night terribly sick with some of the worst foodpoisoning I can remember. I obviously cant say for sure I got it from there but the timing was awfully coincidental and it seemsmore unlikely to be from anything else I ate. Which was final nail in coffin for me. If a chef sends a more well-done steak onmed-rare re-cook, it makes me wonder. Read more

It has been at least 10 years since I had been to Ye Olde so I was looking forward to my visit The wait time was short and the... service was very good. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. My wife and I both ordered the filet. She got the baked potato and Igot the woodshed potatoes. The steaks were cooked as we ordered them. To be clear the steaks were good. My wife and I havetraveled around the Knoxville area checking out steakhouses over the past 2 years. We have tried dozens of filets, many at farcheaper prices than Ye Olde (and some much more expensive) I would rate Ye Olde steaks as about average. I think myexpectations were very high and while w e enjoyed our experience we were just a bit disappointed overall. Read more

I am truly disappointed. This was not our first time here, but it will be our last. My husband and I ate here for our... anniversary Tuesday night and everything went down hill after we were seated. My husband tried to order prime rib but was toldthat one of the staff didn?t turn on the prime rib oven in time, so they couldn?t serve prime rib rare but could serve it mediumwell, how can you cook something medium well but not rare? Ok, he was sad, but we decided to split the porterhouse steak like wehad the time before. When this steak came out, it looked decent until we cut into it. We ordered it medium rare and parts wereover cooked, parts were undercooked, and some parts were fine. After each one of us took a bite, we looked at each other andsaid ?I don?t think they seasoned the steak.? And I mean I don?t even think they put salt and pepper on it-it was just cookedmeat. We decided to let our server know and she took the steak back to the kitchen. They took the steak we had cut into with theforks we?d eaten our salad with and put that steak back on the grill after they actually put some seasoning on it. We?d finishedeating our sides by the time they brought the now seasoned mostly overcooked steak back out to us. There was so much char on theoutside of the steak the picture with this review was what we had to cut off just to be able to eat it. At least the Red Velvetcake was still up to par. We never once saw a manager and I couldn?t even tell you who that was supposed to be. Read more

As a chef I am always looking for a great place to eat, read the reviews on this steakhouse and it proved everything that... everyone had written!! The steak was flavourful; it was beautiful to look at, the portions generous. If you are ever inKnoxville in Knoxville, this is a must stop Place! Read more

Got the 12oz prime rib, no complaints. Food was excellent and service was good. Went on a Tuesday night so there was no wait.

This place overall is not bad. It's quaint, friendly, and inviting. The male host was very friendly and seemed genuine. The... waitress showed up and seemed the same way. The place WAS NOT busy and had a few waitresses dealing with a smattering ofcustomers. First off, they bring over a custard dish of dried cheese wiz and you have a basket of Captain Jack crackers to usethe cheese spread, a little weird but ok. Secondly, they bring over a menu, upon opening the menu, prices are a bit more thenwhat they probably should be (20oz NY strip is $37, 12oz is $27). For the prices, you'd think they were outstanding steaks, butthey were little more then average. Their idea of seasoning a steak is in butter and then grilling it and putting peppercorn onit, not crazy but not aged like they were attempting to. Then, for appetizer we got provolone cheesesticks which were good but 6piece was $9. Waitress became inattentive and we had issues getting her attention. Took several attempts to get a 'to-go' boxand a 'to-go' cup, but ok. The kicker for me and my wife was, if you order a soda, they bring it in a can with no glass.Anyways, experience was not as good as it should have been for a restaurant in this price range. Would I recommend it? Notreally. Was the food bad? No. Was service bad? Kind of. Be prepared to spend a pretty penny if you go here. Read more
