First off, the wait staff was AWESOME. I would have given Abby\'s more stars because of them, but that would fool people into... going. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, between lunch and dinner so it was not crowded. My wife ordered a margarita and itwas AWFUL. The waiter replaced it with a different drink and came back a few minutes later and said he made a small sample totry himself and it was indeed off.\n\nWe ordered the calamari and grilled oysters for an appetizer. The breading on the calamariwas pretty good, but the rubber bands they cooked inside them were not. But the oysters... oh my turning stomach they smelledlike dirty socks. My wife ate one, I ate one, then we had to have the waitress take the platter away since my son was about tovomit from the smell.\n\nThe entrees arrived a few minutes later, a Second Mate boil, blackened catfish, and a fried combobasket and they were all inedible. I can normally pack away anything and only managed three bites of catfish and a couplefries.\n\nWe paid our $130 bill and left 90% of the food on the table. Great staff, but... the crayfish po boy was cold bread, a couple pieces of lettuce and tomato, with fried, barely warm crayfish.... Like popcorn shrimp. Mostly breading, zero sauce. $14 for mostly bread. The hush puppies also barely warm. Maybe other stuff onthe menu is good. This was not! Read more
I didn\'t give it a one star because of the really nice waitress. You could tell she really wanted us to be happy. I got a po... boy and it was dry. The shrimp wasn\'t fully cooked, the breading was completely gone, no mayo or any sauce. The lettuce wasn\'tshredded just a big plank of ice berg. It just seemed defeated. The gumbo tasted like it was warmed up where one spoon full wasreally hot and the next spoon full was cold. I was really rooting for this place. I was very disappointed with the three plates we ordered. We spent about 80.00 dollars for 4 meals. First time trying this... place out. One piece of fish, four shrimp a small portion of sweet potato fries and two hushpuppys. Read more
Waited an hour for something that should have taken 10 minutes. Also Gumbo had tail on shrimp and it tasted awful. I ordered... poboy with dirty rice and got fries. I love seafood and was hoping for a place to be able to go to but this was a terribleexperience. I understand if they are short staffed but if the foos tasted good then it would be fine. The one good thing was avery cheerful host/busboy/runner. But overall experience was bad. Save your time and money and go elsewhere. Read more
Firstly, I really wanted to like this place. Seafood has been lacking in my life but I had a below average experience. My fried... pickles were raw (the batter), the catfish pieces were huge but no seasoning/taste and the crawfish was bland. Glad other peopleenjoyed it but this place just didn\'t do it for me. I decided to celebrate receiving a raise by treating myself to some seafood and a cocktail. The service was exceptional and the... food was delicious. I tried the Cucumber Bloody Mary and it was great! The Shrimp Cocktail was good. The Blackened Salmon wasslightly dry but very tasty. I am going to mention again the service because I had the best service I have had ina long time. Read more
We recently tried Abby\'s crab shack for a date night. I\'ve never been to a seafood boil type of restaurant and it was amazing.... The crab, shrimp, sausage and hush puppies were delicious. I also had a frozen margarita that was super tasty. We didn\'t lovethe crawfish but I think it was a personal preference issue, not a quality issue. Our server was amazing and took great of us.
