This place used to be soo good! But recently they changed their menu for the worse! All my favorite items are gone. They also... changed dessert menu. I love basically all desserts, you can’t go wrong with sugar ???? so thinking enthusiastically I decidedto give new menu a try. My attention caught passion fruit and mango cheesecake. Sounds delicious, right? So I order newcheesecake with some other items to go and can’t wait to get home to try new deliciousness. It has be divine, it is $14! Lowand behold, I open my box at home and there stares at me the most plain slab of vanilla cheesecake you can buy for couple bucksat any grocery store with some cut up on top slimy underripe mango (honestly I wasn’t sure if it was mango because it tastedgross and very bitter but it is definitely not passion fruit! which looks very different). I kept digging into it thinking therewill be a delicious surprise…no! It was just plain store bought vanilla cake with gross little prices of mango. If it was myrestaurant I would be deeply embarrassed to serve anything like this! I feel really dumb for even thinking it was going to begood. But the name.. the price… right?? I’m really not sure what they are thinking! Read more

Because the outdoor seating and the street closed outside there is no parking in the immediate vicinity. We had a reservation... and were seated straight away on arrival. This is an Italian themed restaurant with good menu choices, however many items fromthe menu were out and as such there were only select dishes available. Ordered gluten free pizza. Sadly, as I have experiencedthis in other restaurants also, the crust came out burned (charred). Presumably the thin crust burns quicker in coal fired pizzaovens. The prices were on the high side. I was visiting from out of town and everyone recommended Barbarella. I really enjoyed its location so close to the beach. We... got the Barbarella classics: Pasta Al Forno - Baked Orecchiette Pasta, Gorgonzola, Leek, Italian Pancetta, Light CreamSauce Barbarella Burger - Grilled Hamburger, Bib Lettuce, Heirloom Tomato, Marinated Grilled Red Onions, BriocheBun Everything was amazing! We were here for their brunch menu but apparently their dinner is even more amazing with theirwood fired oven fish dishes! Read more

A nice little restaurant hidden in La Jolla. A couple of my friends and I enjoyed the very comfortable patio. It was spacious... and the weather was PERFECT! It wasn't hectic. So we were able to chit chat a bit like girls like to do... It was anunintentional visit, but it was very nice that we spontaneously dropped by, and a first time customer for all 3 of us. Iordered the Asparagus and Pea Risotto. Ive never ordered Risotto before so I hadn't a clue what it was. I thought I was gettingpasta. So i was surprised that it was a beautifully prepared dish with predominantly rice instead of pasta. Nonetheless, it hada very delightful and flavorful sauce infused in this dish which garnished and blossomed the entire experience. It may soundlike a plain meal, but it is definitely a wonderful one. The rice was a little undercooked, but later they made up for it(since I didn't want to complain up front). And no I didn't eat all the rice. One of my friends ordered the Ceasar salad witha side of anchovies and she loved it! Her dish had a hardened parmesan cheese chip, and I nibbled on that. Pretty tasty! Myother friend ordered a Greek salad, and the beautiful presentation was what I describe as "fresh". Definitely not atraditional Greek salad. Less salad and more fresh veggies. I wanted to nab her toasty lookin' toast but I refrained. Lol. Soin the end they apologized for my rice and compped us the yummy dessert ???? which is called Affogato. This amazing dessert islike Italian Gelato with expresso and dark chocolate smoldered on the top portion of the glass. So scrape a little chocolate andgo for the deep dive. Wow. That delightful blend is so good. I could have had eaten this dessert completely by myself. Really itwas very ???? yummy! Enjoy your next adventure at Barbellas! Read more

I hate to leave a bad review but this place really needs a reality check. They have a Caesar salad for $18 with no meat at all.... There is an option to make a salad a wrap for $2 extra. There are no pricing options to add meat but I asked if they could makeit a chicken Caesar wrap and they said no problem. Over 30 minutes later I got a cold wrap that was falling apart with coldFrench fries on the side. I had asked for the bill so we could leave and when I looked at the bill the wrap was $34. $18 salad +$2 for a wrap and apparently an extra $14 charge for a few pieces of chicken in the wrap and you couldn’t even hold it in yourhand. A $34 chicken Caesar wrap. I told them the situation and that I’d like to have them take the food off my bill and theydid do so which I appreciate and is all I asked for. A chef came out and insisted they give me something else but we had to besomewhere so I declined. They still insisted they give me a new wrap and they come out minutes later with the same wrap that Isent back to the kitchen in a box. The menu items here are wildly over priced. They still charged my mom $4 for a club sodawater with lemon as well… Go somewhere else. Read more

The food was not good. It was very bland. Needed salt or something! If I’m paying these prices I would expect to have flavor... in my food and enjoy my meal. All the dishes we ordered were bland. The hostess was rude, and was not sympathetic to not havingenough space for our party of 9 with three kids. Our waitress was very nice but she was hard to find! Late to take our order andnever showed up to refill our waters. Read more
