Hands down best Italian food in SD. Staff is amazing and the chef makes you feel like you’re dining in Italy.

Absolutely incredible, delicious, VERY authentically Italian food. Total hidden gem in the area. Cannot recommend enough -- go... have a meal now (it opened recently) before this place totally blows up and is packed every night. Menu is awesome -- tons ofdifferent options for Neapolitan-style pizzas with thin dough, just like pizza in Naples, as well as a huge menu of awesomepastas, including separate sections for gnocchi and raviolis. Also had super tasty specials, we ate this potato, basil, andoctopus appetizer that was perfectly cooked. Can't wait to go back to keep working my way through some more of their dishes. Read more

Tried this new restaurant tonight and I was so positively impressed. The owner/chef is from Naples, Italy and it shows! The... montanara appetizers were incredible and the pizza was just next level. The doe was so light and the flavors were so wellbalanced! Would recommend 100%. Read more

We came in the middle of November. The staff was very friendly and gave us helpful suggestions. I love how you can see the pizza... being cooked in the fire brick oven! We got a simple pepperoni pizza and it was so good! The cheese stretched out, the crust wascrispy and the pepperoni was nice. It was that fresh out the oven burning the roof of your mouth hot. It was big enough to sharebut small enough not to have you over yourself full, especially since we were bar hopping and brewery hopping all over San Diegoand had to eat everywhere we drank. Arrived here when a friend recommended it, hailed as a gem among grad students. Park on the street or church lot. You're... greeted by a cute stone oven and some very Italian employees eager to serve, joke, and take your order. I split a "meat lovers"(I forgot the actual menu name) with my friend, but you could easily finish one yourself for a lunch time meal too. The pizzaitself is simply phenomenal. The dough is extremely light and fluffy, yet the gluten resists easy breakage. Some pizzas requireyou to brace your neck while you grind your teeth and muscle your arm away in the hopes of ripping a piece of the crust off. You're chewing it because you don't want to waste food, not because it's enjoyable. This however, is the perfect amount ofeffort to chew. As soon as your teeth meet, the deed is done, your hands are only there to support the rest of the slice as itfalls away. And there's a bit of char to contrast the marinara and subtle sweetness of the meatball, pepperoni, andpancetta. What's more impressive is how the entire bottom remains crisp during consumption. This is in spite of all the oil, meat, and sauce juices that permeate the top. I recommend you pick off a piece of pepperoni or sausage and savor it beforemelding it with the section you took it away from. You can better appreciate how these components come together as a slice. Orjust wolf it down, you won't be disappointed either way. Leave work, leave class, take an Uber, it's worth a try and really somuch more. Read more
