This is your typical Vietnamese restaurant located across UCSD. Open til 11p. Open tables. The food is good and if you don't... know what to order, the wait staff will help you out. The service was very good and the wait was miniscule. Read more

I have been coming here for about a year now, excellent food and excellent staff. The owner works there all the time and is a... pleasant man to talk to. Summer time I noticed it?s a bit slower which makes sense because who?s trying to eat soup during thesummer heat? Lol once the weather gets colder this restaurant gets insanely busy especially during dinner time. There were dayswhen the wait time was long but during those days they had a full house and not a single seat was open so the wait for food madesense. I also wanna clear up some stuff because I?ve noticed the reviews on yelp and here on google. I saw people tend tocomplain about pricing, these people need to realize they are in one of the most expensive cities within San Diego county. Thisrestaurant cannot be compared to other places such as the ones you can find on Convoy/Los Angeles. The viet restaurants in thoseareas are so saturated they must price their food competitively. I also saw someone on yelp give this restaurant a 1 starreview because staff informed him that they weren?t taking orders for dine-in for the night because kitchen closed at 930pm (hestated he arrived a little after 930pm) but they were willing to accommodate him for a to-go order. It isn?t fair to give themsuch a bad review when a majority of restaurants do the same thing, it?s a pretty universal thing to do this to make sure thekitchen staff can clean up in the back and go home on time. Most restaurants I?ve been to in San Diego wouldn?t even accommodateto-go orders once the kitchen closes. I will continue to go to this restaurant and give them my business. Pro tip: Chicken phowith beef broth instead of chicken broth is excellent. Read more

Let me say first that I live in Westminster so I?m used to really good Vietnamese food. I went with about 8 family members and... everyone thought the food was a but pricey. It?s because the area is expensive and rent is expensive. Half of my family likedtheir dishes (pho was apparently good). The other half didn?t like their dish much (the bun and bun Bo hue weren?t as authenticas could be). But it was crowded and open late so I assume the locals like it since there aren?t many Vietnamese restaurantoptions in the area. It?s probably very tasty for La Jolla/San Diego. Read more

Good for take out. Bad for dine in. Pricey but very good food. I was staying at the hotel next door and thought I would eschew... the high price of room service and order Pho La Jolla instead. I ordered 6 egg rolls. Thats it. There were no prices on themenu. When I arrived and the price was over 16$. I gafawed. The nice man said they had to raise prices since "everything" (Iassume covid). While I waited, I noted that there were four other tables seated and actively eating when they started puttingchairs on the tables tops essentially booting out the customers a half hour before close. I also couldnt help but notice thatUsher Yeah! was playing overhead. Nothing gets me in the mood for Vietnamese food like derogatory hip hop music. The food?Well, quite a surprise in a good way. The portions were generous and the egg rolls were homemade. They came with a bag oflettuce and mint to eat in true Vietnamese style. Points for that. All in all, I'd say get carry out if you can. Maybe if theyweren't kicking people out of the restaurant, they would not have to raise prices because of everything? Read more

Great place to dine in. Affordable Vietnamese dishes and foods were satisfying. Must try their spicy beef pho. Service was great... though you have to wait 10-15 minutes for the food to get on the table. Can be seated outside or inside depending on yourchoice. Covid safety measures were implemented wisely in this location. Read more
