I visited this SD in March 2022. I was feeling extremely sick and tired. And then we found this gem "Taste of Himalayas" right... across the beach. I ordered Dal tadka, Rice, Momo's and a simple vegetable curry. The food was freshly cooked and very importantit was super delicious. I can't imagine eating tasty Indian food on a beach especially when I am sick. I remembered home. Therestaurant and restrooms both were super clean. BTW I'm local from San Diego, here in California providing a restroom or give a glass of water if someone in need it'sjust standard act of kindness and human being it's the way to show that you're taking care of community and not only your ownbusiness, my wife was needed a restroom and you guys refuse, you're deserve 1 star definitely. Tried this restaurant while we visited La Jolla cove. The restaurant is small but the food is really good. We ordered the... chicken kadhi, vegetarian navratan kourma, garlic naan and mango lassi. It all tasted good. Server was courteous and servicewas quick. Read more

Each item is expertly cooked to order! Dining at Taste of The Himalayas was a unique and tasty treat! The owner Savant and... partner Melissa were stellar, working side by side to insure the best dining experience for every guest attending during myvisit there. Staffing was short, however for the quality of the food it is a MUST visit for anyone who appreciates authenticHimalayan and vegan dishes. I was immersed with the scents of Himalayan/Tibetan spices and a friendly, homelike feel that set meimmediately at ease. The outside of the restaurant has the appearance of an organic family based business. The personalattention given to each diner was quite impressive as the pair, along with a bevy of cooks in the kitchen , hustled to fill "togo" and "online orders" but not too busy to see to the needs of the in-house and outside guests. Curries tasted just average no much flavor and taste. Naan was good. Rice served with curry did not taste freshly made.... Himalayan Restaurant at El-Cajon and Mira Mesa are much better than this one. Okay for one time visit Read more
We were a group of 8 and there was only one server and the cooler had broken earlier so we were offered glasses of ice with our... Himalaya beers. The food was good especially the momos, biryani and coconut naan! Lamb korma was a bit tough. The servertried really hard, the food came quickly and we all had a good time. Read more
