Good location, great view from the window. The view from the window is the main reason to come. The food is really delicious.... Good, polite waiters. But I didn't like the moment with the fact that we wanted to book a table specifically by the window, aswe had a wedding anniversary and we wanted to feel a romantic atmosphere. We called but no one answered the phone. When wearrived, we were not seated by the window, but literally a couple of minutes later a table by the window was vacated, we askedto be moved. The administrator replied that this table was booked by some man. After they put 2 girls there, it means they liedto us. It turns out that they lied to us and simply did not want to transplant us. Chef Mike greeted us and told us a bit about the property and the menu. Absolutely incredible food, every single dish we had was... really amazing. I got the 2 lb Lobster. Having the waves crash against the windows just made the ambience and feel of the roomextravagant! We will be back! Read more
In summary you pay for the view!! The food and service are average comparing what you pay. Two things that I didn’t like; The... server tone and language was impolite and he was talking down, for example when he wanted to ask how was the food, he was liketell me how great did the chef!? I felt like I am dinning as a servant in a palace sometime around 1800. The other thing was amistake in our bill which I would never accept when they call themselves a fine dining restaurant. I would rather not to checkthe bill but the amount they’ve charged us made me do that. Can’t complain about the view and the exceptional locationthough. I have to say, this restaurant is the most memorable part of my trip to San Diego. Super nice view of the beach and especially,... the food is DELICIOUS. Not quite the definition of a fine dining experience I had expected. Took my girlfriend here for her birthday and didn't even... get as much as an acknowledgement even though I specified it on my reservation. Mileage may vary and could very well just havebeen the result of an inexperienced or seemingly grumpy server. All the tables around us got offered bread. We did not. Twoother tables near us had birthdays and anniversaries and got free desserts with candles. We did not. Our empty water glasseswere left empty the entire 2 hour dinner. Food was ok, but nothing to write home about, and pales compared to the price tag.Highly disappointing. Can get much better food and service elsewhere for that kind of money. THINKING Romantic Dinner:... Then the Marine Room fills that dream, more so if you get a window table...the sandy Beach is right... in front of you with waves every few seconds. Restaurant Ambiance is warm, quiet, service is excellent, not rushed.. Food isexcellently prepared, Steak and Seafood is entrees available ... The service here is outstanding. Everyone from the guy in the valet service, to the waiter is an amazing person. Have in mind... that there is a dress code here, so don't wear shorts if you come here! I recommend you try the lobster and the scallops. Justabout everything we had was great. View + food together is unbeatable. Not sure if we are lucky or my note in the reservation worked, we got the window side table.... Watching waves while dining is amazing! All the servers are very attentive and knowledgeable about dishes and drinks. We wentthere for friend’s birthday, they helped us cut our own cake and also offered us a free dessert.
