My Dear Friend/Amy and Me ate a delicious appetizer (endive) and our entrees were sushi/salmon rolls and sesame chicken/teriyaki... with rice. Sushi was very fresh/delicious and sesame chicken teriyaki with rice delicious and plentiful. My friend drank aspicy margarita and I drank corona in the bottle. This is by far the best sushi restaurant in San Diego County! The staff are amazing! The food, a sensory delight for both the... eyes and the pallet! This is what a great restaurant looks, feels and tastes like! The success of BanBu is in the teamwork!Everyone and everything is on point! From the waiters, chefs, hostesses and bartenders. This place is definitely beautiful and the staff was friendly but.. I honestly was not impressed by the food and was a little... disappointed because it was a very nice setting. The food also took a long time to come out even though it wasn't too busy. Weordered a Tonkotsu Ramen, Sesame Chicken and had a Diablo drink.. it didn't taste bad or anything but when you're paying a pricefor quality you expect it to taste better than less expensive places around town. Great plating but slow service, food was greasy and overly salty. First time in my life I didn’t enjoy sushi. And super over... priced. For 2 rolls and 1 appetizer the bill came out to be $80. Ridiculous. Read more

Banbu has tasty rolls, attractive plating and good service. They also have a full bar and a nice atmosphere. The patio area has... a nice fire pit. Though the rolls tend to be pricier here compared to other local places. Read more
