City Tacos is a great restaurant if you're looking for tacos in the La Mesa area. They have quite a few different varieties of... tacos and they're all delicious. The tacos are a little expensive but they definitely don't hold back on meat or otheringredients, so you get what you pay for. The thing I love most are their sauces. They have a few different aioli-type saucesthat are absolutely heavenly and pair with the tacos so well. If you're going to come here the sauces aren't optional -seriously. Read more

I'm saving the reason I finally wrote this review for last. The thing I should have realized all along, and a dream come true,... that I never knew I had. Let's get to the point though, City Tacos makes you thankful that you are living in the year 2022 onplanet earth in San Diego, Ca... because, TACOS! and THESE TACOS!! I've come here about twice a week for the past year. I work1-1/2 minutes away. It's one of the first spots that comes to mind when I tell friends "let's meet for lunch". I've taken photosof probably every meal I've ordered there, even still now! They're beautiful and the tacos are soOoOO Good! Just this week, Itexted a few friends a pic of me having City Tacos to remind them where they weren't eating . The rest of the day, I receivedtexts saying "I'm craving City Tacos soo bad" - yea! They are that amazing! I always recommend getting the taco of the monthand even though my friends and I fall into our favorite tacos naturally, we always want to change it up, because every tacodelivers something uniquely different. Okay! Okay! The epiphany and the reason i finally wrote a review. We stumbled in on aday where we met the owner... after seeing him in action, I felt compelled to write this. He was so passionate about getting thenext taco of the month to be just right. We were watching him, we started talking to him, and he was excited! He clearly wantedto make something great, like wow! His team too, they were in on it together! So fun to watch! Then, he wanted us in on the funand asked us to taste-test the options for next months tacos. Yea, WE WERE CITY TACOS TASTE TESTERS!! Are these happy tearscoming down my face as I write?! I didn't even know I had this dream.. and just like that, a bucket list item checked off mylist. Life.is.complete! I came in to try this spot recently with family and wasn't disappointed! City Tacos has some fantastic nontraditional tacos... that I'd highly recommend trying. This is a fun spot to come out of your comfort zone! I can't recommend just one taco, eachwas great in its own way. Read more

Went to LaMesa with the wife to grab a bite to eat. While waiting to find a spot to park, a gentleman approached our car and... asked if we are looking for spot? We replied yes, he said to eat or park? We said both. He pointed to City tacos and said hewould highly recommend this place. My wife and I agreed to try it out. We ordered a variety of tacos. We had a Caritas, surfand turf, pescado, mexicali and a portobello taco. Also ordered their agua fresca, they has pineapple and watermelon. All thetacos were amazing. The pescado taco was my favorite. It was topped with strawberry slices and drizzled with strawberry habanerojam. The salsa selection is great as well but I have to give it to their mango habanero salsa. I will definitely be back to trytheir other menu items. Read more
