Excellent authentic Mexican! (I've never seen nachos as loaded as these). Previous reviews mentioned lack of space between... tables but they seemed to have corrected this as tables and seats were well spaced out. Would definitely go back! Read more

The reason for the 3 stars was due to our disappointment with the unwelcome attitude of our server. Once we were seated, I... happened to glance over and noticed she made a face to the hostess seating us in her section. The server, Angelina only came tocheck on us after the manager came out from the back and the only smile was when she let us know our payment went through.Although the food was good, and it was nice the other service/hostess checked on us twice, Angelina?s service was less thanacceptable. If we ever return, we?ll make sure not to sit in her section. My wife and I are both retired and on social security,so to spend over $50.00 on dinner, it would?ve been nice to have received good service to make our evening out a much betterexperience. Absolutely love this restaurant!! On vacation we stumbled upon it last year. Had awesome tacos and a margarita with great... service. Went back last night and had shrimp tacos and a mango margarita. Recently I?ve been on a mango margarita kick and thisis by far the best mango margarita anywhere!! If you have a sweet tooth like me it?s desert in a cup with a generous amount oftequila. It had mango chunks and cherries. Can?t wait to have it again. Their grilled shrimp are huge and delicious!! Love theirchips, salsa and guacamole!! Although chips sound like a basic to get right so many Mexican restaurants disappoint but not here.Be prepared to eat way too many ???? And, we had great service again with a pleasant sense of humor. This was my first time at Cafe Mendoza. The food is good with a real authentic taste. Prices are reasonable for the portion... sizes. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. I would have given 5 stars but I gave it 4 due to it being very loud andthe tables were too tight. Had 4 of us at a table that really was better suited for 2. We had to hold our menus in the air toread them because we had no elbow room. Same problem when the food came the plates were wide and they left little room on thetable for our drinks. Speaking of drinks, the margaritas are delicious! I will go back but maybe at an off hour so it isn't soloud and packed too tight. They had a singer but we could barely hear him over the noise. Had the nachos with chicken and food was great, service was good but the only reason that I gave it a 4 is that we ate at 3:00... pm and it was extremely warm inside which made it uncomfortable. We were there on Monday June 6th. Read more

Great place for authentic Mexican cuisine w a pleasant atmosphere. We had a party of 18 and we We were promptly seated and drink... orders taken. The adult beverages took no time at all to be served and were very well made, compliments to the bar tender/s. Thefood was shortly bought out and we all enjoyed our delicious meals. The service was on point throughout the evening and theowner which stopped by our table and spoke w our party genuinely took the time to share a few moments w us. We all left quitepleased w the overall experience of Casa Mendoza and will definitely stop by again in the near future. Read more

Casa Mendoza, located in Old Town La Quinta, is a decent Mexican food restaurant. The place has all the right feels of a well... run restaurant, and the right pop of "authentic" Mexican food. The interior is as colorful as the staff, who were cheery andfast. The waitress was accommodating with my order's substitution and preferences. Didn't order any alcohol, but the drinks thatwere served to other tables had me in regret. The food was fast, good and well prepared. Read more

I highly recommend Casa Mendoza for authentic Mexican food in La Quinta! The ambiance is great and service is usually pretty... outstanding (Manny, Luisa, Ramiro and the hostesses and bussers all are fantastic people). The alambre traditional is myfavorite dish. It?s like fajitas with carne asada, bacon, chorizo and melted cheese. Also, my go-to favorites are the cheeseenchilada with red sauce and shredded beef tacos. Unfortunately the happy hour is on hold, however even at full price make sureto try their margaritas and chavelas. Gracias Casa Mendoza, nos vemos otra vez! Read more
