What's important? Service or food? I would say both. With a party of four. The original restaurant was in Palm Springs. Food was... delicious. Beautiful plate presentation. BUT as for service... not so much. So if you don't care that you have to remind themthat your celebrating a birthday or be served a drink you did not order. Always a delight... Never a disappointment here. We're just waiting for them to bring back the All You Can Eat and life would be... perfect. Came here for a friend's birthday. Ordered the baked mussels, monkey brains, stuffed jalapeños, and tofu appetizers. Party all agreed the best thing was the monkey brains. Stuffed avocado and lightly fried. We also ordered several sushi rollsand you can tell all the ingredients were fresh. Will definitely be back again. Read more

This restaurant is such a gift to La Quinta. The food and the service is always wonderful. I has a lovely Asian pear salad, my... husband had miso soup and a seaweed salad and our son had a albacore tuna roll. Yummy! My only concern was the misters on thepatio. They were great for keeping the temperature down but our poor server slipped coming to our table! I have been coming to Okura for more than a decade. The sushi is always phenomenal. We don't live in the area, but we have... family out here so we like to stop by when we're here. We also used to visit their Laguna Beach sister store before it closeddown. Last night was pretty disappointing. We had not been to the new location yet and decided to come see it and eat some greatsushi. We had a reservation at 5pm and we were seated within about 5 to 10 minutes of checking in. No problem, they wereclearly busy. For ordering... First off, no more all you can eat sushi. A little disappointing, but given the environment andthe closing of the other location, I get it. The per roll pricing also looks like it went up a few bucks a roll since we camehere last. Again no prob, still more than happy to buy a few $20 rolls. You only live once, so spend the $100 on great sushi. Weordered about 10 minutes after being seated (maybe 5:25), 4 rolls and carpaccio. Our two family members ordered tempura andskewers as meals. The tempura was brought out immediately, like less than ten minutes after ordering. Great, weird that thatfamily member had to basically eat dinner alone but okay. 5-10 minutes later the skewers came out. Now that family member waseating alone. Then nothing came out for a long time. Finally the server noticed and went back to at least grab our carpaccio. Hebrought that out at maybe 6pm and said the sushi would be right out. At this point, we're starving and frustrated. We asked anybusser walking by if they knew where our food was and finally asked about cancelling it. Then it all of a sudden showed up at6:12, more than 45 minutes after ordering it. Honestly, other two tables seated after us got their sushi well before us. I haveno idea what the issue was. Establishment was very busy (Saturday) and took about 20 minutes to get seated with appointment. Food took a lot longer than it... usually does. When we received our order it was incomplete and had to wait again to get the rest of the order. Service could usesome help, food on the other hand was amazing. Never disappoints with the quality. This was the best sushi place I have been to in a long time. I went there twice and service and food only gets better. As soon... as you walk in the door you are in an enchanting room with a beautiful atmosphere. The service was absolutely exquisite and thefood was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! Everything had such flavor and was just perfect. It was so good that we kept getting andgetting things but our bill was sill amazingly low! They have so many things to offer too!
