What a hidden gem! After searching high and low for a restaurant with a great atmosphere and even better food I stumbled across... this restaurant. Immediately upon our arrival we were greeted by a smiling member of the team Dennie and enjoyed a seat up atthe bar. The restaurant was warm and friendly, lots of laughter and smiles. After spending a week in Montreal I have to say thiswas the best meal I have eaten all week! The duck legs were juicy and crunchy. Venison tartar was delicate and packed withflavour. Finished with the bison ribs which were falling off the bone and left my mouth watering. I cannot recommend thisrestaurant enough and cannot wait to come back! Great atmosphere and good food! We were surprised at how welcoming and homey (in a good way) this place felt. It was nice to... have a pool table there for something to do while we waited for the food. The terrace was lovely. We enjoyed the food and therewere some interesting menu items we wanted to try...beef cheek burgers and bison ribs yum! Food tasted homemade (ie not overlysalted like is found at many restaurants). A little on the pricier side but well worth it as the portion sizes were good.Looking forward to our next visit! Read more

Absolument incroyable! My husband and I held our wedding supper here and it did not disappoint. The owner (Ross) and staff were... amazing in every way possible. They got us our favorite wines (that was not on their wine list), gave us different options forsupper even though we were a large group, they decorated the tables (and mind you? the decor was dropped off only a few hoursbefore our supper), and they embraced/accommodated my last minute plans (such as our arrival/departure time). They kept therestaurant open for us after hours, and the servers were attentive and fast (eg., I was the last to arrive at my table and theymade sure not to bring out my plate out at the same time as the rest of my guests to make sure that I ate my meal hot). What an amazing experience! We chose this restaurant given its proximity to our lodging at Lac Supérieur. It was the best... decision we ever made! The event was for a last minute getaway wedding which planning started only a month earlier. Ross, themanager, made sure that everything was perfect. The restaurant was very accomodating and met all of our needs. In the end, ourgroup was about 35. The restaurant greeted the guests with open arms. The service was impeccable, the food was cooked toperfection! Every single meal that came out (and they were fast and attentive) was simply perfect. There must have been at least25 filet mignons and everyone's cooking preference was flawless. It simply melted in your mouth. The servers were some of thebest I've experienced and easily compete with 5 star restaurants in any major city. Do I recommend this place? The answer iseasy, absolutely YES! You will not be disapointed. We are so fortunate to have found this little gem, it was truly a memorableexperience! Read more

Great ambiance, good service, but food-wise... A bit disappointing. We ordered a piece of steak, faux fillet (recommended by... the waitress that was not on the menu), a smoke trout with dill on top of a pancake and a beef cheek burger. The smoke troutcame first and I tired very hard and could only find maybe 8 small fine pieces of dill in the cream it came with. Also, we hopedthe pickled onion that came with it could be more generous to balance out the saltiness of the trout. In the end, without thefresh herbs and garnishes, the dish was a bit too salty. The beef cheek burger didn't have much beef in it and tasted a bitbland. I had to add ketchup and mayo to make it more enjoyable. The steak we thought would be the highlight as it came with aprice tag ($50). But sadly it was overcooked so we had to send it back. The second time round it was cooked to our liking ofmedium rare, but the slice was quite thin, and the topping of buttered onion was again overly salted.
