My granddaughter and I were visiting the area from Maine. Our Airbnb host recommended that we stop and check out this little... mom-and-pop sushi place because I asked for recommendation. When we walked up and it was very obvious that there was only takeout and it was a small operation. It was a sunny and breezy day today so we were on foot and they accommodated us for indoorseating. They literally picked up the chairs that they were sitting in, the table they were resting at and put it in a separateroom for my granddaughter and myself. Then when they deliver the food the presentations were beautiful and the food was amazingwe had the G2 and I can't even begin it's say how pleased we were that they accommodated us the food was fresh they madeeverything right on the spot they've packed up our to go order it was incredible I was very appreciative and so was mygranddaughter we were very impressed. We will definitely be back when we come back to visit the area. I hope this business takesoff and they're able to put in a couple of chairs indoors. Well worth the visit. Read more
This place didn't make the best first impression on me, reasons being: music was way too loud when we walked in, we weren't... acknowledged for a good five minutes by the two assistants until the owner came out front, despite there being no othercustomers ahead of us (it was about 2:15), and the menu was a bit different from what they have posted on menuguide.com. Thesushi was fine, nothing extraordinary, but decent. Maybe they had a bad day. Will be returning here, but hoping for a bettersecond impression, as I truly like to support our small businesses. Ordered 2 rolls and they were both AMAZING. The fresh fish is delicious and the portions are generous, especially for the price!... I will definitely be back and would recommend this place. The wait is a bit long because of how busy they get, but it?sobviously worth it. Edit to add: while in my car eating, my car battery died. Called my bf to come jump my car, owner tooknotice while he was on his break, came to clean my battery and helped jump my car. What a guy! Read more
Oh my Goddess. These look so good. I finally got my sushi. Please stop by 20 Canal street and show them some support. The... ingredients are fresh and they make most of their rolls while you wait. So be patient it's a small mom and pop restaurant. Togoonly they've only been opened for a week. #Koungsushi Update Went again today and the food is so much better than any of therest of them.
