What a great find! We decided to try Antoni's Italian Cafe because it was close to our hotel, and it had good reviews. The... restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated. We started with the meatball appetizer, then my husband ordered the salmon and Iordered the fresh tomato pasta with garlic and fresh basil. Loved the meatballs-I'm changing my recipe to imitate theirs. Thesalmon was perfectly cooked, and my fresh tomato and basil pasta was so delicious and light. The dinner was perfect! Worst food as far as Italian cuisine goes. My wife had chicken parmesan which wasn't totally breaded nor did it have any... mozzarella cheese. It had something like a Alfredo sauce. I had veal Marcella which is a thickened brownish mushroom sauce withMarcella wine. I can't describe what I had on mine. I personally am a sous chef and with an Italian background. The 2 stars wasfor the server who was excellent. Another issue was whom I believe to be the owners or managers greeting every table around usand ignoring me and my wife. We love Antoni’s! The staff including the hostess, servers, owners and managers were all incredible friendly and... welcoming. Calzone! Probably the best I've ever had. Not the most authentic Italian joint, but still good food. Table partners had a veggie... pizza and a totally custom with anchovies. They loved theirs too! I'd go again. Read more
This was such an awesome find!!! They were so packed, hence make a reservation, BUT we love sitting at the bar. There we can... talk with the bartenders and get alot of information. I had a chicken dish with artichokes and capers on it....DELISH!! Louishad the meatloaf both were recommended by the bartender and the other by a patron sitting at bar with us. Cocktails were onpoint. Prices were in line with other fine restaurants. Restrooms were well taken care of too. We didn't order desert becausewe totally cleaned our delicious dinner plate. Oh the tomatoe Basil and mozzarella was appetizer was the introduction to theirfood quality. Just make sure you call ahead for reservations. Great staff! Read more
Visited tonight with high expectations due to the reviews already posted about this place and we were not let down. The... atmosphere is warm, sophisticated, and cozy, with a gentle upscale vibe. Our waitress was Casie and she was so sweet and helpfulas this was our first visit. Drinks, appetizers, and even our meals arrived prompt. We didn't wait long for anything. Casie madesure our drinks stayed full without us having to ask for refills. For appetizer, we got the Garlic Focaccia bread with cheeseand marinara (not pictured; it didn't last long enough!). I also ordered a side of roasted garlic. Let me put you on: the garlicis so soft you can actually use it as a spread. Spread that over your cheese bread, then spread some marinara on top. You canthank me later! For our entrées, my husband ordered the Snapper Special. He couldn't stop commenting to me about how his dishwas absolutely perfect and generous portions too! I opted for the Chicken Parmesean. The only complaints I have was that Itypically prefer a thinner cut of chicken breast with crispy breading for Chicken Parmesean. The breading was a bit soggier thanI'd like, but was so flavorful and delicious. The Pecorino Romano cream sauce they put on top is TO DIE FOR. I'd eat that stufflike soup. Seriously. If you're on the fence about trying Antoni's, let me assure you, you will not be disappointed. Theservice, food, and atmosphere were phenomenal and we will definitely be back to try more options! Antoni’s is genuinely one of the best places to eat in Lafayette. They consistently deliver excellent food and excellent... service. My wife and I recently walked up on a busy Friday evening without a reservation and were still able to get a table ina few minutes, thanks to the very courteous and helpful staff. Read more
