Matter of fact, the taste alone is an aphrodisiac in my opinion andeveryone else I have came with or have taken out with me. These have to be the FRESHEST EVER!! ???????? Our group of 4 had a wonderful time celebrating my wife?s birthday. Our server Cade was very knowledgeable of the menu and was... very helpful as we guided through both the menu and our meal. The food was outstanding! All of the courses were brought out atthe right times and were all prepared to the right temps. We would highly recommend eating at the Half Shell Oyster House -Lafayette. Good oyster! We visited on Sunday evening the place was full. Luckily, we only needed to wait 10-15 minutes until they showed... us the table. This establishment is more like a fancy family diner for weekend dinner. However, for a fancy restaurant, theprice is acceptable. We ordered the baked oyster. And it was superb! The New Orleans and Bienville style oysters as a starter were amazing. We actually considered ordering more just to eat as our... meal because they were that good. We also ordered the charbroiled oysters as a starter but I would not recommend nor would Igive it a second chance, once I pointed out that they tasted like gas my fiancé and I couldn?t untaste it. For our meals I hadthe uptown quesadilla (from the appetizer menu) and my fiancé had the snapper. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal however my fiancédid not like the snapper and wanted me to remind him not to order it again. For drinks, I had the maple pecan old fashioned,and I think it?s the best old fashioned I?ve had to this day! I highly recommend that! Atmosphere is great, service was great,bathrooms are clean. We were there for Mother's Day. We had a 30min wait which wasn't bad for a holiday. The service and food was great. I had New... Orleans style shrimp and grits with asparagus very delicious along with a tray of variety oysters in the half shell. Highlyrecommend. Not a very large place but comfortable and family friendly. From the moment we arrived (which was late at night) till the moment we left we felt welcomed and catered to, the food was... delicious, staff was friendly and attentive, everything was fresh and hot with fire.
