I can always count on Tsunami to make me feel at home again. The wait staff never make me feel bad for special ordering my sushi... roll, love the edamame and the chocolate martini is to die for. The staff is always friendly and I always see old friends there.Always makes me consider moving back to Lafayette. Also, I remember all the happy times my brother had here before he was killedso being here and seeing his friends makes me feel a bit closer to him. And the owners are the bomb! We had a late lunch there so it wasn't too busy. My son had a bento box that he really liked and my wife and I shared 6... different sushi rolls. All of them were great and exceeded my expectations. I traveled from NOLA to Lafayette to spend some time with a couple of friends. My friend from the area suggested we have lunch... at Tsunami. Great choice! Service was fast and friendly. I asked our amazing server Evan to suggest a refreshing non-alcoholicdrink. He told the bartender what I had asked for and the bartender crafted the most amazing refreshing drink … it wasdelicious! We ordered a variety of items from the menu which were all scrumptious. We couldn’t really decided which item weenjoyed the most. The Jackie O Martini is soooooo good! It features a jackfruit puree. So velvety smooth with just a touch of sweetness. It's... THE BEST signature martini in the area. The food and service is so great too. I really, really, really wish that I could giveit 5 stars but the music is so loud you can't even hear the person talking that is sitting at the table with you. We wereshouting at each other. According to the other reviews this appears to be an ongoing detractor for Tsunami. It's doesn't seemlike it will change; this just appears to be their vibe. So if loud music would be a deterrent for you during a nice dinner, youmay want to choose a different place. Read more
11/11/21 I came here for the first time, and I enjoyed the food that I ordered. The green beans were not steamed long enough.... Obviously other patrons were disappointed ordering them, too. I saw another group just have them on their table as acenterpiece. Lol! My order of the endamame was definitely not edible, but I am glad the other food was! The eggplant and shrimpmeal was very tasty (a tad bit salty, though). The fried rice was tasty, but I'll go to Bangkhok Thai before returning here forthat item. I enjoyed the bread pudding--it was prepared nicely/was just as depicted as photos from the website. The ice creamwas really good. Our waiter Ethan receives 5/5 Stars for his service! We absolutely loved the veggie sushi. Staff is friendly and there is a nice atmosphere inside. Definitely recommend!
Rainbow roll appeared to be missing a piece of fish, but it was good. The father calais roll was also good.
