What a great little place with EXCELLENT food and GREAT service. Get this... we dined at The Local while on a trip to Norris... Lake. I left my diaper bag in the restaurant with no way for them to contact me. I realized my mistake on the way out of townon a Sunday when they were closed. When I reached the manager on Monday, she very kindly agreed to ship it to me. Not only didshe ship it, she PICKED UP THEE TAB. And it was in in no way their fault! FRIED GREEN TOMATOES are great! ????My first time eating here. The place is busy but very clean, lots of parking, many local... regulars eating here is a good sign! Daily specials, meat and vegetable plates, sandwiches, big selection of sides andappetizers. Nice ladies giving good, attentive service, pleasant and staying busy cleaning and clearing ables fast after peopleleave, not a bunch of dirty tables with dishes, etc. Food came out fast, fries and fried tomatoes were crispy and hot!Chickensalad with cranberry and nuts on croissant was good and fresh. I've underestimated this place for too long! Today I went with my wife and had the bone in pork chop with a baked potato. I... really enjoyed the meal! The pork chop was cooked perfect and the baked potato was as good as it gets. It's nice to have a placein this town that offers healthier options on their menu. We had the fried green tomatoes as our appetizer. They were some ofthe best we've had. My wife ordered the hamburger steak and fries. She absolutely loved it. We will definitely be back! Read more
We are staying in town and decided to check out The Local for dinner. We ordered through Doordash and had it delivered to our... hotel. We ordered: Better Thank Potato Skins Poppable Shrimp Country Fried Steak Chicken Tenders Mini Corn Dogs and Fries Mac& Cheese Mashed Potatoes Green Beans Overall the food was good, and was devoured by our hungry bunch. There were some notablethings. The chicken tenders, Poppable shrimp, and country fried steak was amazing and delicious. Best fried shrimp I've had inquite some time. The sides were good, but were pretty basic and very light on the seasoning. The Better Thank Potato Skinswere a real disappointment. We were expecting hot and crispy potatoes, but instead got soft and mushy potatoes that all justcaked together. Overall, it was a good meal and we would order from here again. Read more
Found this place looking for home cooked food on Google. Glad we stopped to try it! Dinner plate with a meat and two vegetables... with a roll was only $6.99. We had the beef steak with white gravy and it was delicious. The desert sounded awesome butunfortunately we didn't save any room. Very clean restaurant. Food the Mac-chili buger don't order terrible ordered med I received x-well. With the essents of Mac &... chili the onion was bigger the buger..side was devil egg not fresh several days in the fridge. Dessert served in a to gocontainer with date on top . Was tasty peacon pie. Ice cream cheep no vanilla flavor. Not worth what I paid for lunch. Read more
