Good food in a nice venue. Everything was pretty much ..good. Nothing great. Given a lower rating based on value because for... those prices you'd expect a lot more. The menu is heavy handed with thick sauces. It's like no dish can stand on it's ownwithout being covered in some gravy of some sort. They even feel compelled to put whipped cream on the espresso martini. Thevegetables tend to be string beans, the starch mostly mashed potatoes and rice. Food comes out lukewarm. This is the kind ofrestaurant parents loved in the 70s. True to that the drinks were surprisingly strong and and large and therefore a goodvalue. The other plus is that likely due to it's prices and menu selections it's not so much of a family restaurant as so manyof the other places on this lake are, hence it's much quieter and more intimate. If you want a nice quiet intimate dinner in anice setting with some strong drinks and maybe a couple of appetizers to share it will serve that purpose well Read more
My mother and I enjoyed a nice dinner out at Saddleback Grill while visiting Lake Arrowhead. It was just what I had hoped for:... good food in a relaxed, friendly environment. Our shared appetizer and our entrees were both flavorful and well prepared.Service was on par: gave us time to consider our options and enjoy a cocktail and, once we ordered, food came out at a goodpace. We felt well taken care of and I'd come back if I'm ever up in Lake Arrowhead again. Read more
Nice atmosphere & location. My family and I thought the food was good; only complaint was the green beans did have quite a bit... of butter in it. Service was also friendly, however, it felt just a bit rushed in the end. Would we go back again? Possibly. Read more
Delicious food. Cozy ambiance. Good service. I tried the sirloin pepper steak which was tasty with its bacon crumbles and... grilled scallions. If you want bread service, it's not automatic, but will be gladly brought to your table. Well drink and wineservice. Will return for the Mac n cheese, salmon, and more! Read more
We had dinner reservations and were seated right on time. Tons of parking so arriving was easy. Service was fast and friendly.... Full bar for adult libations. Our food came out perfectly paced and was seasoned well. The sauteed scallop is decadent and rich.Pan seared sole was my main and it was so good I would probably just order the same thing next time. My family and I wanted to go out to a nice dinner, and so we made reservations for Sat evening. We asked to sit outside and the... staff set us at a lovely table for 6. We started off with the Lobster Escargot and the Scallops appetizers, which weredelicious. The wine selection was top-notch. We a?l thoroughly enjoyed our selections - mine was the filet mignon, and it wasperfect. My mom ordered the duck, and it was delicious. The chef, Rhett, came out afterward to meet us and we had nothing butpraise for his culinary skills. In conclusion, if you are looking for a fine-dining experience, definitely try the SaddlebackInn.
