I was sent to this establishment from the hotel I stayed at. I was looking for breakfast food. Cottens Nails the Old Fashioned Hamburger stand game. Order taker was extremely friendly and accurate with my unique burger... order. The Order hander outer was less friendly and suspect when I asked for the items I had paid for.... My receipt was infront of her so truly she needed only look rather than question. Great burgers and even better chicken tender sandwiches. Both juicy and really tasty. Only 2 complaints: No sign outside, so... hard to find for out of towners. The other was the onion rings. Seemed a little soggy/greasy and lacked a punch of flavor.Would have liked to see them served with some type of tangy dip or sauce. Will visit again for the sandwiches. Read more

Looking for a lunch spot passing through and I feel so lucky to have found this hidden gem. Doesn't look like a diner from the... outside, but I knew from the amount of cars in the parking lot and in the drive thru line that it had to be good. During thelunch rush you may have to wait in line but it wasn't terrible and it was worth the wait in my opinion. Food came out fairlyquick and was deliciously fresh. First off this place does not look a restaurant and if your not looking for it, then u might just pass it by. When the locals... say it's a hidden gem they aren't lying. This place has a old fashioned diner vibe and the customer service is outstanding.Everything is made FRESH to order and handmade. Let me start this review by saying that I am an easy to please person. Wife and I were in Lake Charles on business and not being... that familiar with places to eat we searched goggle for places near to us. After reading the reviews, Cottons seemed to be anold fashion diner where a person could get an old fashioned home made style cheeseburger. I don't remember ever being moredisappointed in a dining out experience. The service was terrible, we had to stand in line for over twenty minutes just to placeour order, very limited seating available and when we were able to get a table we had to push the bags and drinks left by theprevious patrons to the side and wipe down the table ourselves. The food was cold, and I do mean cold and greasy. If not for thetaste of old, cold grease there wouldn't have been much of a taste at all. Several reviews bragged on the onion rings so I amgoing to include a picture of them. Notice how thin they are, I am not sure if there were any onions under the batter, and howgreasy the bag is. Now to top all of the above off, we were treated to several grown men parading around showing off most oftheir underwater. Definitely not something you want to look at while eating. I don't think I need to say I will never patronizethis establishment again nor would I recommend it to anyone. Beware of good reviews, I know I certainly will from now on. Read more
