We were there for the restaurant week and the food was awesome!
Customer service is poor!! I got to know about Bar-A from Louis Bruno. Since then, every other Fridays, when I come to Jersey... Shore Hospital, from Monroe, I would stop by to have a drink or two, and get a few takeaways, after eating. Every time I come, Iwould ask to speak to Joanne McEville. I would get a message of 'her being busy', which I understand. Today, 8.26.22, I wastold she was in the office and she would be out shortly. I waited on her to come out and talk to me, but she did not come. Iasked the waitress, before I left, and she told me she left for the day. I felt embarrassed, and Joanne's behavior was rude. Shecould have at least acknowledge my request to speak to her. The waitress did not have the courtesy of giving me a follow-upuntil I asked after waiting for over thirty minutes. I am a customer who pays for my service, I am not looking for handouts. Joanne, you should have come to hear me out. I believe, if I was not a black woman, you would have come out to talk to me. Onething, I stand for is respect from any business I am a patron ???? I am using my hard earned money just like everyone else. Ispent $145 dollars today. It may not seem a lot but it is my MONEY!! Before you go, remember to take 10 forms of ID. This place thinks they’re a passport agency or the DMV. I waited in line for... 30 min just to get denied because they didn’t take the type of license i had. & the “securities” that look 15 years oldwe’re super rude about it. They must think they’re tough for working a security job. There was no need to act big, aren’tyou supposed be nice to your customers?? & isn’t a bar based on age not what type of form of ID you have?? If that’s yourpolicy make it known, have your people tell your customers who are waiting in a long line so you don’t waste their time. Read more
By far one of the worst places I've been too . As a travel and restaurant enthusiast whom dined at 5 star restaurants and bars.... The environment and the services I had experienced in this place is terrible. In addition, to a low rating my party of 8 and Idined at the bar and the music and power kept on going out every 25 mins . The DJ music of selection was not good and notdiverse . The DJ kept on playing old teens 2000 music like Cascada. If there was more diversity of real Latin Music or BetterClub remixes it will attract more people. The food and the bar service is over priced and forgettable. I asked for a glass ofsangria at the bar . And the bartender I spoke to quoted "we don't make that here". But then gave a Contradiction quote backand told me she can do a white sangria ? I agreed to what she offered and whatever she created was not a good at all. It tastedlike a watered jungle juice. I eventually asked for a napkin with my drink and told me she couldn't do that for me.. I haveexperienced and seen prejudice people before in my life and this bar is one of them. Allowing people at the bar to swear and totalk about Politics out loud was not very inviting to me. The environment and the wait staff was not very welcoming in over alland as a diverse person I felt like a fish out of water and i did not belong. I will never come back to this place ever again. Best bar I have been to at the NJ shore. Parking is ok they do their best Servers and bartenders are very nice people, very... friendly tip them well they deserve it. Food was delicious and on time. I love the outdoor part of the bar it is amazing. Greatplace to see a show inside of the venue. Support this bar they support live venues and are nice enough to host events. Tuesday night is mostly worth it. $20 cover but then the beer costs 50c which is amazing. I spent $4 in drinks the whole night... which makes the cover worth it. Overall, a fun club. I recommend showing up after 9 on Tuesdays to avoid waiting in line for 1hour to show your ID. Read more
About 16 to 20 of us went to there to attend a charity event for veterans. I was a little surprised that bar a did not advertise... this on their website. I think a lot more people would have attended if they had. It was a beautiful day and the bands were allgreat and the cause was a good one. We had appetizers and Cocktails and donated to the cause. We went to see a friends band and figured we would get some kind of bar food. Our server was raving about their new chef so we... order some of the specials. What a surprise. Food was outstanding. We had the opportunity to speak with Chef Bobby and he isexcited about some positive changes. We will be back. Read more
