We enjoyed our dinner at the Grand Cafe. We each ordered a beer or cocktail before dinner. I had a mojito. It was one of the... best mojitos I have ever had. We all (3 of us) ordered the Friday Fish Fry. It was great. It included 3 pieces of beer batteredcod, tartar sauce, cole slaw, fries or garlic mashed potatoes and rye bread with apple butter. We all enjoyed it. No one neededseconds, but we were asked. It was a great meal and we were all happy with it. When in this area the next time, I wouldn'thesitate to return to the Grand Cafe in the Grand Geneva. Read more
Service was excellent! But the food was horrible. Do not get the seafood boil. Not sure where the chef went to school but they... should not have graduated. We are in WI and corn is plentiful. So why have frozen corn??? The rolls were hockey pucks. The crabwas previously prepared and most likely dunked in hot water before serving as it was shriveled and the legs would not breakopen, just bend. There was no seasoning on any of the food. The prime rib was well done, dry and gross. For $60 a person thepicture is what was served for 3 people. The dinner buffet had gnats and bugs flying around on the food. Good variety butunappetizing. Amazing meal! We all got the buffet and it was well worth the price ($45) - they had at least 6-8 desserts, plus the best cheese... options, appetizers, phenomenal prime rib, so many options. Our server Lisa was super friendly and helpful. Read more
Several menu options are offered, and they are pricey, but worth it. The Cafe Prime Burger was excellent with unique sauce and... condiments. The salad was good and the carrot cake was excellent. Issac, our server, did a great job educating us on the menuand attending to our needs. Read more
This food and service was very good. Very nice selection of food and dessert.
This is one of the restaurants at the Grand Geneva Resort. Highly recommended. I got a falafel wrap with spring greens and... hummus. It was listed on the menu as having yogurt as a condiment and I asked for a hummus subsitute. So, they kindly preparedmy wrap dairy free. My salad was a simple house salad. Instead of the house dressing I got their house made green goddessdressing, which was delicious. My wife asked the waiter a random passing question about what was in the dressing, and that wasthat; later, the waitress surprised us: she got the whole recipe from the chef and brought it over for us. It was a veryhumanizing exchange. This was a lunch meal at a fancy resort but wasn't very pricey for hotel restaurant prices. The atmospherewas elegant and classy. Read more
Thoroughly enjoyed our brunch at the Grand Cafe. Food was excellent, service was exceptional, and the view was wonderful. We... enjoyed the first day of our stay at the Grand Geneva with a perfect brunch experience. The food was absolutely amazing and sofresh. You must try the Avocado Toast, French Toast, and Nutella Pancakes!! SO SO GOOD!!! We ate here on a weekday so didn?tget to explore their buffet menu, next time definitely trying that. WILL BE BACK! I went to the Grand Geneva Resort with fiance,and I must admit,the views are beautiful! The man made lake,landscaping is breath... taking.Unfortunately,The Grand Cafe restaurant,just isn't as Grand as they want you to think,but the negative reviews is enoughfor you to make a better decision than us.The restaurant looks nice,but the dinner buffet was horrific for $45 a person.Food wastasteless,cold and nasty.Thought we'd try their breakfast buffet the next day,thinking it couldn't be worse.Oh,yes it wasworse.Processed eggs were cold and other items were just horrible.I would've expected better being at a beautiful resort,but itwasn't We would've been better off with the big breakfast at McDonald's,Honestly.Question is.. who is the owner?and why is thischef still there..lol..With years of negative reviews about their buffets,you'd think they would get it together.Nope!
