We needed a quick childless getaway closer to home and it was perfect! From Dante to Dan to Mark they all made us feel so... welcome. The food is unbelievable. It was so nice for my fiance and I to shut down and focus on us for a day. Thank You BakerHouse. We will be back???? Read more

We have been coming to The Baker House for years. Last visited in 2021 and service was fine food was great. We were just in lake... Geneva this weekend for our wedding anniversary. I made a reservation a week prior for Friday night. They called us on Friday inthe afternoon to cancel the reservation! I was shocked. They said they were closing early today. Bizarre and very unprofessionalcanceling the day of. They offered us a reservation for Saturday and a free dessert we accepted. We arrived at 7:10 for our 7:15reservation and we're told they were running 30-40 minutes behind. Not pleased but we got a drink and sat outside. Where manyother people were also waiting to be sat. Another group also had a 7 pm reservation and they were never sat and left. We stayedand waited for 50 minutes and left. Also there was only 6 entrees on their menu which used to have many dishes. They'reobviously understaffed and I assume poor management too. Really sad to see this restaurant go so downhill. It was always afavorite of ours. If you are so understaffed do not continue making way too many reservations you know you cannot accommodate. Read more

We had a reservation for 7:30pm. We got seated at 8:10pm and ordered our food by 8:30. By 10:30 the food still had not come.... Guests all throughout the night were complaining about the time of service but we tried to stick it out as we were here for abirthday. Our server was very sweet but the owner seemed unapologetic and didn’t do nearly enough to help the situation giventhe circumstances. We ended up walking out at 10:30 without ever having more than appetizers and on the way out our food stillwas not ready. We left to other guests recounting similar situations. People were there at 10:30 that had 6pm reservations.Management here is POOR. The appetizers we did eat were good and the ambiance was nice but don’t go unless you have a full dayto spare. Read more

My husband and I stayed at The Baker House for our honeymoon July 10-14. We spent 4 nights and 5 days in the Versailles Suite.... When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly and accommodating hostess. Our bags were carried upstairs for us and when weopened the door, the room was beautifully prepared with dimmed lights, rose petals on the floor and bed, champagne on ice, chocolate covered strawberries, and red roses in a vase on the nightstand. The Suite is perfectly decorated to fit the GildedAge theme (as is the entire Baker House) to really give off that Lake Geneva feeling we were looking for. Beautiful and elegantchandeliers, silver cast iron trays and dishes, along with the drapery, wallpaper, and intricate carved fireplace mantle.Personal amenities included comfortable plush robes, a large king size bed, and a one of kind shower with two heads and six sidejets. Each morning we were served breakfast in bed. Our breakfast included hot coffee, warm croissants, and fresh fruit daily.Outside of the Baker house is a beautiful garden with cabanas and gas fire tables for use by the guests. Our view of the lakeprovided easy access to the beach, shops, and eateries. With our VIP parking, we never had to worry about getting a close spot!We would recommend The Baker House 10 out of 10 times to anyone wanting a romantic get away. With so many more beautiful rooms,we’re excited to come back in the future for another stay! Read more

My daughter surprised me for my birthday with brunch at the Baker House. We got there a half hour before our reservation and... were given the option to be seated right away. We started off with the bottomless mimosas, which were merely okay, so we eachonly had one. I ate small portions of the following: eggs with vegetables (delicious), egg benedict with mushrooms, spinach andtomato, french toast, yogurt with fruit and granola, side salad, prime rib, chicken fettuccine, and finished my meal withcoffee and cheesecake. To my delight, we were allowed to tour the first floor, though I wish we could've seen the upstairs andbasement as well. Price was $35 per plate but it is higher priced if you go on a holiday.
