We went for a birthday celebration. The view was nice, although there are only 6 tables next to the window Ordered charcuterie... appetizer which was outstanding. We ordered entrees. I didn't like my entree and they easily offered to make another entree. The manager stopped by to see if everything was good. When we finished our meal, the waitress offered us a free brownie dessert(due to the birthday). The brownie was better than any brownie I have ever had. (I noted that the table next to us came for ananniversary & they had the brownie and a free glass of champagne.) Super for celebrations. It was excellent. Read more

We loved each course we ordered, and I didn’t even have the chance to take pictures of our food because they were all great,... starting from the warm bread with butter (with herbs) in the beginning. The crab gazpacho was delicious, chill and great for asummer evening—the fresh tomato flavor really shined through, and crab meat tasted very fresh too. Star of the night was thecurried lamb shank! So good! Full of flavor! Loved the curry and use of habaneros, and the jasmine rice soaked in the currysauce was also super yummy. The lamb shank was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy, soaking up the flavors. Really glad we gotthis dish and would totally come back again for their curry lamb shank! The steak my partner got was also cooked very nicely. We also got the chanterelles from the special menu (in addition to the lamb shank), also full of flavor and delicious! Pleaseadd the curried lamb shank to your main menu as a permanent staple! We would definitely come back again for the food (and thelamb shank)! Our server was also very warm and helpful throughout the entire evening. Read more

I was a little surprised at the lack of seasoning on the food. The sea bass was flavorless. The wine and view were great.

The Grandview restaurant was beautiful, situated on a hill overlooking gorgeous Geneva Lake. It's not the busy part of the... lake, so it was tranquil and beautiful, just enough boaters to make the waves sparkle! Read more

Complimentary bread comes as a loaf with herb butter. The chicken Milanese pasta itself was good, but the fried chicken was... horrible. It tasted sour, like it was no longer fresh and safe to eat. Would not recommend, especially for the price. Theservice was good though. Read more

Pros: - Staff were fantastic - Food was amazing - Great atmosphere - Everything was clearly fresh made Cons: - Pricy (but you... should know that going into it) The Grandview is definitely a fine dining restaurant in an upscale 4 star hotel, and, itfulfills it's role of being that perfectly. Going into the restaurant, I did expect it to have the usual fine-dining fare thatyou expect, however, this was not exactly the case as the menu did have your Wisconsin twists you come to adore from the state.I would've never expected to have to write that there was such a thing as a "fancy cheese-curd" however, here we are. To thinkthat a bacon jam would go well with a cube of fried cheese was foreign to me until last night, but, cleary someone in thekitchen had an "a ha" moment and made the most interesting and, quite frankly, delicious combination that I would've balked athad I not taken the gamble and tried it. To move past the cheese, the next app. we tried were the crab cakes. A little small onsize for the price tag, but very large on flavor. The jalapeño remoulade was extremely well made, and while it could've had abit more kick to it, the subtle jalapeño flavor it provided was just enough to be noticible, but, not enough to be spicy at allto the properly accustomed. Now, I cannot speak to the steak personally; however, my dining partner was very quick toawknowledge that it was one of the best steaks they have ever had; and used the word "heavenly" to describe it; and, heavenly isdefinitely the word I would use for the lamb shank. You can always tell the skill of a chef by how moist and fall off the bonethe lamb is, and, I didn't need a knife at all for the lamb. Tender is barely enough to describe how smoothly the meat cascadedfrom the bone; by far it was one of the best lamb dishes I have had in a very long time. My only minor complaint to it is thatthe carrot coulis was a little over-powering for the nice subtleties the dish had built up and layered; and, Read more

Our dinner was spectacular. My girlfriends steak was tender and juicy while my chicken piccata was the best I ever ate! We... talked about how delicious our meals were for an hour or two after we left. The sunset view above the lake really set the moodand added to our experience. The one minor thing was our dessert, the chocolate cake. Quite underwhelming. Besides that, Ihighly recommend this restaurant! Read more
