Hands down best sushi place in Chicago area. We occasionally try other spots downtown or even abroad but this place consistently... outperforms any others. FRESH and delicious! None made-ahead. Owners had Sapporo restaurant years ago in Crystal Lake, thensold to Kyoto (over by Harbor Freight) and opened Tsunami in Chicago. We were thrilled when they came back! Godzilla roll, seared tuna, Raspberry-Chipotle shrimp, list goes on! And their martinis? Unbelievable and hand shaken at the table. Alwayscrowded so make reservations... Read more

Food and wait staff were good, however I've never waited so long to get our entree at any restaurant in my life. We waited about... 45 minutes in between appetizers and entree. The food is also good but not great enough to warrant how pricey this place is. Read more

great food, bad experience. left tip in jar and was followed by our server into parking lot. she was quite rude when explaining... her frustration. gave her $5 out of embarrassment (mind you i left over 20% tip.) very unprofessional and frustrating, felt asif i was being pan handled. harassing your customers is never good. please whoever is in charge, talk to your staff! Been here numerous times and it's always a great dinner . We enjoy our date nights here . We usually start with martinis. My... husband had a dirty and I had a French both were very good. A couple next to us had a melon martini and they said it's so goodunlike anywhere else . We started with 2 appetizers the Jeffrey salad and the Dynamite which is crab shrimp and scallops on topand comes served to your table with a bed of fire underneath so people turn and look . Don't need to blow it out goes out on itsown. The Jeffrey salad was yummy sesame flavors and sashimi pieces so delicious. I ordered the Sashimi entree and my husbandordered the Sapporo roll and forgot the other one but it was deep fried. If you can make a reservation by calling The reserve atable on their site said no time slots were open. So I called and got a table about an hour before we got there it was aThursday. The service excellent and food superb. Read more

It was okay, i mean for the price i would expect a little more flare when it comes to the food. The coctails where good. Server... was definitely more of a silent seever which is fine. But hell would have been nice to get a run down on whats good etc. If youget the rack or lamb you might want to trade out the veggies for something else because they were so flavorless/ under cooked.Lamb was good.
