The fig jam, goat cheese and nuts were a shining light upon a dead pizza dough and burnt cornmeal. The cornmeal doesn?t need to... be there - let alone burnt. The dough didn?t seem to raise - is it old dough? or maybe it?s a recipe that would be better suitedfor an oven. It is very close to being a good pizza. Unfortunately, for $20, I won?t try again. There?s a lot of pizza in Traverse/Leelanau County but you?d be hard pressed to find some as good as Nittolo?s. The dough,... ingredients, and technique are legit. Went during Traverse City restaurant week. I was quite impressed. I knew they had good pizza in the other side of the building,... but this dinner was excellent quality. Only fault was some risotto that was so sticky and stiff I left it on the plate.Appetizer was wonderful. The salmon had a perfect sear on it, and a dessert of their famous cannoli, delicious. We came here because "local friends" of the friends we were traveling with said, " this place is amazing!" So we all went. What... a special dinner we all had. Taylor was our waitress and she was wonderful. Eric Nittolo, the owner spoke with us; he is such anengaging person! Currently both seafood and pizza menus are offered in the main dinning area. There are changes underway, theyare reconfiguring the current space; creating a new space; for a dining experience with the ultimate seven course meal- topdrawer- with limited seating, beginning in May!
