If you're looking for an authentic rural and rustic experience of the Canadian Rockies in 100 year old cabins, this place is... perfect! We loved our cabin. I have seen complaints about there being no WiFi or TV etc, but this experience is about being inthe middle of mountains in touch with nature. The historic log cabins are really worth the extra buck! We have a very mixed feeling about this place. It was nice, but not as nice as we expected from reading other people's... reviews. As mentioned by most other reviews here, the view outside of cabin was great and the cabin was quite nice. We decidedto pay around 750 USD (for two nights) to stay here instead of banff because many people were raving about their overallexperience and especially, the food. So we walked in with a high expectation that was met 60%. Cabin was nice and cozy butrather small. Some small things were inconvenient. For example, it would've been nice if they had a hair dryer or some lightingabove/around the vanity mirror (so people can actually see themselves in the mirror). Shower pressure can be affected by othercabins using water at the same time. We killed a few bugs around the room (large spider and some other stuff). Some firewood waspre-placed in the fireplace but a little damp so they created quite a bit of smoke when we tried to use them. Restaurant staffwere super friendly, food presentation was amazing but the taste was meh... We ordered Montreal style duck and short ribs thefirst night, neither was very impressive (duck was too bland and short rib was dry). But again, the plating looked great andthe appetizer bread was like heaven-made. Second night we ordered just game burger and that was very tasty, which made us wonderwhether we just had bad luck ordering wrong food the first night. Overall we felt like this place could potentially become oneof the luxurious cabins but it's definitely not there yet. Won't be returning at this price. Read more

We stayed here the nights of 8/20-21/2022. We also ate in the restaurant both nights. To my knowledge I never saw the kitchen... staff but whoever is in the kitchen has some great cooking skills. We really enjoyed the food both nights. I was a littlesurprised the second night when I heard a server tell the table next to us if they wanted desert they could eat it around thefireplace in the lobby area as they needed their tables for other customers. Even more surprised when my wife and I were toldthey needed our table. We weren't planning on hanging out in the serving room. It's a small place that probably seats 30 or so.We had 6:30 reservations for both nights. Anyway, great food and good service in the restaurant. Regarding our stay in cabin #2.My wife and I always wear silicone earplugs while traveling so the road noise didn't bother us. The road that connects Kootenayand Banff national parks is a very busy road all day and all night. Because large trucks are either going uphill or downhill inthis location it can get very noisy especially in the middle of the night. There were no detours off highway 1 the nights wewere there. The mattress in cabin #2 is one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on. As others have said the pics of thecabins might seem a little larger or brighter than they actually are. The water heater in #2 wasn't working properly. I had totake two camper style showers. If you hike in the parks this is a fantastic location. It allows you to avoid the craziness ofBanff and Lake Louise. We don't like the craziness and huge crowds so for us it was worth the price of the stay. Read more

Been visiting this place for well over ten years. The friendliness never stops. Food is always fresh, creative and perfectly... cooked. Cabins are rustic, clean and comfortable. Some non-BC wines would give this place a 6 out of 5 :) Read more

Peaceful cabin in the woods! Strongly recommend! Pros: -Very comfy cabin that comes with your very own indoor fireplace. Decent... space for 2 people (cabin #1) also has a public outdoor fire place right behind the main lodge -high chance of wildlifeencounters, some times across the highway, sometimes right in front of you. Keep a safe distance and always have your cameraready! -The food was steakhouse level+, definitely worth a try. - Great view of the mountains (even on rainy days) -Providesgreat service, staffs are very thoughtful and friendly (introducing the area, starting the fire for you if you are havingtrouble?) - cabin to cabin distance is short, but you still got your privacy. Cons: -Locate by highway 95, there will betraffic noise ,but the noise isn?t that much to be concerned - Most time are fully booked, almost impossible to extend yourstay. The lodge is in the woods, not much activities available in the area, but It?s about 20min drive to banffville or Louislake, pretty convenient if you have a vehicle. Read more

Loved the... fireplace and the crackling fire in our room, and the food is an absolute experience! The website fully explains everythingabout their establishment and even the prices of the food On the menu so you shouldn?t be surprised but just know while a bitpricey than usual the experience is unmatched. We stayed here two nights in June and loved it. Also have exceptional customerservice. Read more

This has to be the best place to stay in Banff National Park. So utterly impressed with every aspect of our stay. Every member... of staff was pro actively helpful and friendly. Location was perfect. Saw 10+ Black and Grizzly bears in the local area drivingon the local road. One even was feeding on our doorstep! (Keep spray on you) Oh, and the food! We ate in the restauranteveryday for a week and each meal was fantastic. Superb chef. No complaints whatsoever. Thank you Storm Mountain Lodge. Read more
