Generally have had good food at the Old Detroit Bar and Grille in Lake Orion MI on Lapeer Road and spend at least $120 per month... ordering food for my family. However, I have a gluten allergy and I always ask the staff if certain items are gluten free. Thestaff seem very unfamiliar with gluten in general and I never seem to get a safe response. I reviewed this location on anotheronline website making a suggestion for greater staff awareness and for some gluten free options and received a very nastyresponse from someone at the restaurant. Their response was ?I think it is your responsibility to know what you?re ordering andif it is gluten-free or not. If you re so unhappy then We think you need to go find another place.? I was shocked at thisresponse and called and asked for the manager. He refused to provide his name and was short with me in general. After askingfor the owners name and contact information several times, all of which he refused, he finally took my name and number and saidthe owner would call me back. I wasn?t confident that I would get that call, and not surprisingly, I still haven?t. I would NOTrecommend this location at all for the mere fact that the manager could have cared less about my inquiry or my business and therude way that I was responded to in the review. He wasn?t helpful at all and frankly he was rude and short with me as well. Ior my family will NOT be dining here ever again. Great restaurant and great staff. The service is always fast and the waitresses and bartenders are very knowledgeable about the... menu. I prefer to sit at the bar and my drink has never sat empty, even on the busiest days with a packed bar. If I could givemore than 5 stars I would. 10/10 definitely recommend checking this place out if you haven?t been yet. Read more

Slow and inaccurate service but the food was good. Burgers are huge and served with large portions of fried potatoes. Waffle... fries and tots aren't any upcharge, so that's a plus. Read more
