The beans and rice combination was amazing, I wanted to just eat that by itself. The tres leches cake was great as well! The... cake was a bit firmer than usual, leaving it with a littler more to chew even after it was soaked with milks. We also gotchicken, and sausage, which were flavorful and delicious, but above all that, the service was wonderful. We came in very closeto closing because we were about to drive two hours home, and wanted dinner beforehand, but they were very nice about it. I willstop by again as I'm driving through! Read more

The rice and beans are perfect, the picked veggies are the best I've ever had, the roasted... chicken is juicy and flavorful, and the cilantro salsa is probably my favorite sauce of all time. Walk in the front door and you?ve just left Lake Oswego and stepped into a family run restaurant thats refreshing and chill. I... got the Roasted Chicken Burrito with Cheese and quickly appreciated the way it held together?I think it was the cheese. It iscomparable in size to the chain restaurant lots of people go to but it was clearly better built because with each bite I had anappreciation for what I was holding. Jorge and his family own this restaurant and the moment you walk in, you get the feeling of entering a home that is warm and... welcoming. The food is fresh, the taste is impeccable and if you have not tried their fried plantains, you are missing out. Theroast chicken tasted so good that my son did not want to share it with my husband so I had to order more, the vegetarian tacoswere yummy, if you have a few moments, do walk around and look at all the photos on their walls, it takes you back to the realCosta Rica. This family owned spot is a must go for anyone who loves good food. The people are so down to earth and kind whichis the icing on the cake. So I was in Lake Oswego for work after having moved to Costa Rica from the Portland area. I guess I was feeling a little... homesick and, to my surprise, there was a Costa Rican restaurant just down the road from my office. I was blown away as I NEVERsee Costa Rican restaurants in my travels. I stopped in and ordered lunch, choosing from the "Eat like a Tico" side of themenu. I ordered a traditional plate with rice & beans, also known as gallo pinto, and I got the roast chicken because I heard itwas great there. OH MY GOODNESS, IT WAS SO GOOD. That chicken...seriously, the flavor was amazing, and it was cooked toperfection. And that gallo pinto was among the best I've had anywhere. Seriously, it WAY exceeded my expectations. Costa Ricansaren't big on spice or heat as a rule, and I've definitely had some bland "afterthought" renditions of the gallo pinto. This wasnot that. It was good as a stand alone. I had time to chat with the Tico owners and they were lovely as well and were veryencouraging of my pitiful attempt at Spanish (I'm still learning lol). It was so much fun speaking with them. I will definitelybe stopping by again next time I'm in the states for any reason. They are not to be missed. Read more
