We had a wonderful experience! Staff was lovely and attentive and the food was outstanding! We got the ricotta toast which was... so unique and delicious and the duck and pork chop were both a trip to flavor town. Must dine here! Read more

We had never been here before, so I?m beyond grateful that the reviews led us here! Best dinner we?ve ever had, hands down. You... probably can?t get in if you don?t have a reservation since this spot is small, and they?re not looking to cram people in andoverwhelm their chef (we really appreciated that). We came here the day my fiancé and I got engaged. The chef came out tocongratulate us personally, and added an extra touch to our dessert. Our waitress was so friendly and accommodating. Sherecommend a bottle from their wine list that we loved so much, we got a second bottle to save for our wedding night. Salt of theEarth Bistro was the perfect way to end our special day! Read more

Excellent food, great service, fun atmosphere, delicious cocktails. We had four courses and each one was better than the last.... The tomato soup was the perfect amount of spice and was so fresh it tasted like the tomatoes were just picked off the vines. Wesampled both salads and they were perfectly dressed. The vegetables were super fresh. For dinner the pork chop was soooo good. Iwas transported to New Orleans and delighted by the mixture of fresh corn with spices and a perfectly cooked juicy chop. Myhusband had the duck and it was magnificent. It was such a unique preparation, almost island flavored, totally unexpected anddelicious. For dessert we split the chocolate moose and again they didn?t disappoint! I highly recommend Salt of the EarthBistro. Do not miss this gem when visiting the Lake Placid area! Read more

This restaurant is AMAZING in every way! On a recent two-week vacation, this was the BEST restaurant my husband and I... experienced. From the adorable and quirky decor to the friendly, attentive staff, they have found the recipe for a top-notchdining experience. And the food! Everything we ate was incredibly delicious. Even the coffee we ordered with dessert wasextraordinary. Our only regret was that we weren?t able to return a second time to try more of the items on the menu. If welived in the area, we would be regulars! Read more

Super cozy bistro with eclectic decor, great service, and divine food! A gem in this area and definitely can compete with my... faves in NYC. Bread is a must order if you're a carb lover - perfectly fluffy, warm, crispy crust, with 3 spreads (herby oliveoil and balsamic, garlic butter YUM, and a red pepper? spread) Ethiopian shrimp app was perfectly cooked and tasty, a bit morespicy than I originally expected so warning for anyone who can't handle spice. The duck and salmon entrees were delicious, again cooked perfectly and generous portions. Desserts - coconut cake is so light and spongy, with honeycomb crumble on top -perfect for anyone who loves desserts that aren't too sweet. Coconut flavor is subtle, not overpowering. Vegan chocolate chipcookies were also great, you wouldn't be able to guess that they were vegan. Recommend reserving in advance if you're coming ona weekend! Would definitely eat here again. Best food we had all weekend. Read more

This is the best restaurant in the area, hands down. We went to The View the night before and it had nothing on this place. We... ordered the Gambian peanut stew and Venison stew. Also got the artisan bread basket which came with three amazing dips. I can?tstop raving about this place. Service was attentive and friendly and the ambiance felt like you were eating in someone?s home.Loved it and will be coming back here the next time we are at lake placid! Read more
